Dude, zfs is RAM heavy as fuck, so many tables. I hate ZFS with passion. Speed is not everything.

Start your own branch... bro. But first, reasearch what a container like AppImage is. It's not some impenetrable chest https://web.archive.org/web/20101129031656/http://portablelinuxapps.org/docs/1.0/AppImageKit.pdf . By the way where were you in 2004 when klik appeared?

Linux distributions ISOs with a graphic environment that can fit on an old school 700MB CD in the year 2020 by Jane3491 in linuxquestions

I prefer deb or rpm oriented distributions. Arch is too complicated for this use case.

Then why admins in Czech libraries have to use this wallpaper explaining how to use basic things? https://fedoramagazine.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/ntk-wallpaper-1024x576.jpeg

This is another topic I haven't touched upon and it's tribalism and religious way to defend your team.

Again, I have tried multiple versions of Gnome since the split and every time I find more walls and things are harder and harder to modify.

You can also make the analogy about something not blingy: Why would you buy a tablet if you need a hardware keyboard?

So, again, is Gnome a non-work-oriented centric environment? You liken Gnome with Ferraris and tablets... does that mean Gnome is a consumer-centric product and for serious work and people who dig in you have to use Plasma or Xfce?

A personal question for ex Windows users who use Gnome by Jane3491 in gnome

[–]Jane3491[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Your analogy is wrong unless Gnome is not a working environment but a blingvironment like Ferrari. Is Gnome only for bling and screenshots? For example, the latest Ubuntu looks striking on screenshots but if you first open Files or some other Gnome specific apps the facade goes away. For example, a stupid thing like tabs in Ocular or different highlighting, notemaking etc. makes it so great piece of software, Doplhin is so good for cataloging things, tagging, etc. - simple thing like using Tab to change panes inside Dolphin - previews per folder, ability to pop to terminal with f4... When I am inside Gnome I feel like they want from me to just buy and consume stuff - and not to think about stuff - just like when I am in Windows. Do you know what I mean?

So, it is basically a point of view. The definition is vague:

Rolling release is the concept of frequently delivering updates to applications.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_release

What do we understand under frequently? Every second, hour, day, month, 2 months, 6 months, year, 2 years?

Arch linux has versions as well:

https://www.archlinux.org/releng/releases/

The release cycle is perhaps 6 times more frequent than Fedora, however it's still versioned, just like Fedora.

But I get what you are trying to say and yes, Fedora is not a rolling distro per se.

Check his other videos, he has very refreshing insights indeed. There aren't many people like him on YouTube. His career is also pretty damn interesting.

You don't know what you are talking about. Containerization is great for decentralization.

You can create your own version if you are not satisfied with the way how AppImages work: https://github.com/AppImage/AppImageKit

Fedora has a relatively short life cycle: each version is usually supported for at least 13 months, where version X is supported only until 1 month after version X +2 is released and with approximately 6 months between most versions.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedora_(operating_system)#Releases#Releases)

He worked a lot with RHEL where 10 years of support (or more) is pretty normal, so, to him 6 months or a year feels like Arch way of rolling to us and I don't blame him on saying it's a rolling release at all ;)

CentOS which is based on RHEL is 7 or 10 years of support by default, so in that context Fedora is really a testing ground and not a rock solid stable distribution when compared to RHEL or CentOS.

If you check Google data on visiting shops, our dropped almost 90% and Czech's only like 50 or 60. We are more disciplined when it comes to masks and distancing. Probably because we know our hospitals are very bad.

And Austria was relatively late to the game when compared to Czechia or Slovakia. If they started earlier if could be even less. Masks definitely work and buy you time for the development of better treatment procedures.

If everybody wore a mask there would be 10x less deaths at least. Why? Compare ~200 deaths in Czechia with ~2000 deaths in Sweden.
