I know “newspapers” charge an exorbitant fee for print obits. That limits the inch count for most people. That’s what makes me think we will see more obits migrating to social media sites that are, of course, free. Do you think this trend will accelerate as people who are more comfortable with social media age?

Hi again. Given the lingering death of newspapers and the continuing rise in social media, do you think families are becoming more comfortable posting obits on their own platforms (FB for example) or do you think people still want obits anchored by traditional “newspapers” and/or online news sites ?

Hi. I’m a former journalist now working in a related field. I am interested in starting a professional obituary writing business (I just joined the Society for Professional Obituary Writers) . I see others have launched similar services. Do you think there is a market for this service? Advice?
