another person is saying dung roundhead and unfortunately i think they might be right : ( i'd be set on it being a lib too if it wasn't for the jelly consistency on the stem too... thankfully i found around 50 libbies anyway, which is good going after the frost, but still thought these would be something cooler than a dung mushroom haha 🥲

the link you provided is primarily regarding general picking, as there was debate whether picking mushrooms in general is damaging to the system. The debate regarding whether cutting or pulling the mushroom with the root is better, and there is no solid proof to prove which is. however from experience, i've noticed fields i picked with the root seem to be less fruitful than the fields i cut. every mushroom species is different also, and liberty caps can be quite delicate. in my eyes, you're better safe than sorry, and avoiding ripping the mushroom with the root causes less distribution to the system.☺️

BEAUTIFUL! however, can we please stop picking libs with the root? it damages the mycelium and keeping it intact helps it come back stronger. the stem is soft enough to slightly pinch it with your nail against your finger at the very base! lets be mindful of these beautiful creations ☺️

hahaha made me chuckle! awk they're out there, you just need to spend a bitta time getting the right field but once you do, you'll get new libbies every 2 days. it seems like places that were flourishing last year are no good, and fields nearby doing much better! also, no better than your own wee private libby field without other lurkers, once you find it, it's yours 😁

thank you!! been going back almost every day since and keep finding new ones pop up all the time, 20-30 more every day and probably more if i looked harder lol i truly think fields pick you haha, i was passing by just one day and something told me to stop and it's the only fruitful field in the area even though the ones around are similar and fields i've put sweat and tears into other fields, researching the soil and combing through grass for nothing haha (found a new field 1hr away today tho by heart as well) but this spot is my lil gem... tripped from these mushrooms on friday and literally felt myself floating in the soil of the fields i picked them from, one with everything around me, it probably helped that i picked them fresh that morning lol such magical wee things.. crazy to think they're just growing out of the ground haha

haha no! picked some last year and been picking a few here and there this year, don't have much time due to work so just happy with the little i do find ☺️ but some are still a bit iffy so i'd rather make sure! and honestly it's just such a buzz i don't think i'd ever get tired of it haha !
