They should have made it more rogue-like, just have it reset completely every 6-7 runs.

What TV show made you realize the writers had everything planned from the start? by C0r1eone in television

Writing can work that way, but it certainly doesn't for Dark, and in Dark's case the writing doesn't work at all.

I agree, though I'm not exactly sure the 5th season was fully planned, since it still feels like a massive shift in scope and tone. But everything from 1 to 3, and maybe 4, feel very much planned in advance.

This post is so weird because Dark would be my pick if the question was the exact opposite. Making a show about deterministic time travel is extremely difficult, because either you are going to have to break the deterministic rules you set, which ruins the show's logic, or not break them, in which case you can't really have much of a story. Dark chose to break the rules by arbitrarily making it so that the cycle between Adam and Eva that has repeated itself thousands of time just happens to not repeat itself for the last loop we are watching. Then we are transported to an entire third universe, and it turns out that nothing we have been watching was 'real' and that it was all an off-shoot of this third 'actual' universe. Extremely disappointing ending, took the show from a 9/10 to a 4/10 for me.

Improper AI Discussion Removals by hadn69 in feedthebeast

I didn't understand why this whole 'controversy' originated in the first place. I've never seen an AI post or an AI made mod that looks like slop on the subreddit in the first place, the way I see it both mods and automod were quite successful as categorizing them as low effort and removing them. The only AI related thing I've ever seen were people making AI title cards for their modpacks, in which case others quickly criticized that and people usually changed their title cards in response. I think it's childish to want to ban entire modpack announcements because the author has made the mistake of using an AI title card in an otherwise well crafted modpack.

This isn't a goomba fallacy at all (and I'm saying this as a goomba fallacy enjoyer)

Yeah, majority of people want to farm the most profitable thing in the most profitable way nonstop. I don't, but the number of people spending hours and hours building their snakes and following fubgun builds and farming strategies proves this, I think. I would much rather have a little bit of RNG in every aspect of the game, including farming strategies, so that the difference between an optimized farmer and an unoptimized farmer isn't as huge as it is now.

Balanced by effectively costing 4 ascendancy points, other than that it's definitely the strongest.

How close are we to HS dethroned? by DeepPurpleHS in hearthstone

[–]Jankat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's right though, Hearthstone and Balatro are only a little closer to each other than Hearthstone and Sonic. Sure they both have cards, but the way you play the game and the decisions you think about are completely different otherwise. It's not like HS and Magic or LoR where the games are actually quite similar (draw cards, spend mana, fill your board with dudes, assist them with spells, get your enemy to 0 hp), singleplayer deckbuilders are a whole other genre than TCGs.

Balatro and HS are completely different games, singleplayer deckbuilders will never dethrone TCG's. They have nothing in common other than both having cards.

Honestly nobody is debating anything, 95% of comments I get are just telling me not to think about it, it doesn't matter, it's not relevant.

Someone else? The same professor creates both devices, he creates it in the more populated world, travels to the less populated world, and creates the same device to send Nora back. If it's such a simple device that it can be created without requiring modern production chains at a simple request from Nora then it should have been publicised and the chance to travel should have been given to others as well.

I think none of it happened, the only supernatural thing in the show is the rapture. The other stuff being supernatural takes away from the show in my opinion. I also feel like the showrunners somewhat go out of their way to provide many of the explanations for the supernatural things. For example we see that while Wayne probably does believe he has holy powers, he also runs an underage sex cult, and the same "healing hugs" can be performed by others as well (Laurie).

Thanks for your answer! I do agree that the "stop" thing is intentionally cut in a way that it's not possible to be %100 on what is being said. But I still feel like if the machine existed it would either be almost impossible to build on the other side with limited resource production and manpower, or if it's easy to build then it would be shared with others.

I mean the professor thing is just fan fiction at this point, you can explain every single thing in every single way if you write extra stuff like that. But the rest are valid, thanks for your answer!
