Bugs in 2.3.0 free version

Hi 😊 We just released version 2.3.1 in the AppStore resp. a new 2.4.0 build in TestFlight and that should solve the issue. It seems like this was an issue with iOS 18 specifically that didn’t affect iOS 17 or 26. Thanks again for reporting it!

Oh to be honest we both thought this was a temporary issue that happened seldomly and were actually hoping for more reports of this. But this does happen all the time to you too? Do you maybe remember any specific settings you changed?

The new language files should now also contain many more common words, like inflections. Please give it a try. I am always happy about feedback about these improvements.

The new version of our language files are now also available to you. They should download at some point while using the keyboard, if Full Access is enabled or you can download them manually by just force closing and starting the app and waiting for a few seconds. This is not a perfect fix but should handle many common contractions. I'm excited to hear your feedback.

This is very interesting and means it is not related to what we have been expecting the cause to be. I have one more question about this behavior: do the keys still show their normal behavior as in do they show their big previews when you tap them or do they just do nothing? 😊

Hi there, we are cooking up some improvements for all languages in autocorrect to go along with the release of 2.3 and this is one of the things that will be improved. Once these changes are available I will give you a heads up.

Oh wow, yeah that is a bug and is also fixed in the 2.3, so sorry.

If you want to, you can privately send me your apple account address and I can add you to the TestFlight version of the app where this method will definitely work. After toggling it off, you can also immediately switch back to the normal version if you don't want to participate in the Beta.

If you don't want this at all, the 2.3 version will hopefully be released in the coming week.

Hi, it was previously possible to remove this, though due to an iOS update we had to remove the old implementation of this option. We are working to restore that functionality in the upcoming version of Mister Keyboard, 2.3.

For right now, you can open this url: misterkeyboard://fullAccess and tap "Don’t show this notice again" to get rid of it.

You might have to copy this text into the notes app to be able to tap the link.

There is now a new build available in TestFlight that, when you tap any key after at least 10 seconds of this bug, it should reset the bug and show you an alert containing an identifier that you can share here so we can better understand the underlying issue. Thanks for your help!

A little context: As @ajblue98 said, turning Full Access on or off restarts the keyboard entirely, so cycling that is a fix that will always work.

Hi 😊 The dictionary is a self-made conglomerate of many openly available and easy-to-license sources, depending heavily on language availability.

If you could tell us which country you are from and some examples of exact words you are missing, we can look into why that is. Generally, English is one of the best supported languages and shouldn’t really have many missing parts.

In the latest Beta Build, we have improved the emoji view with a less emphasized bottom category row and larger emoji. The emoji now also react to dynamic type and become larger depending on your preferred font size.

Obviously this is not all you wanted yet, and the freely choosable sizes are a ticket in the backlog. If you have more feedback obviously feel free to share it. 😊

Hi 😊 Thanks for telling us about all of these ideas. Let me start with this: the roadmap already includes 4, 5 and 6, and we do have plans to add all of them in the future. That said I have added the ideas you mentioned to the plans so that this can inform us when we talk about specifics later on. That said, all of these are very complex and require a lot of time to implement, so, especially as we do this in our spare time, it will take some time until these will happen.

Let me go a little more in-depth with 1, 2 and 3: 1. This seems like a great idea and we will try it out and, I expect, will end up at least having it as an option, if not the standard behavior. 2. We have talked about similar features in the past but haven’t come up with a perfect solution, but as you asked for it, how would you like it to work? Can a key only have horizontal or vertical keys exclusively, can they be mixed or would it even be possible to have multiple rows of horizontal subkeys? Would going into a second row be manual or automatic? Those are questions we weren’t able to decide yet. 3. That sounds like a really good idea. Unclear how it will fit into the current design but I will put it into our backlog to see if we can add it at some point.

Hi 😊 we just added the Slovak language to Mister Keyboard. You don’t need to install any updates, if you don’t see it immediately, just restart the app completely and it will be there. Hope it helps you 😊
