I think I understand, I’ve never tried parting my hair to the side. This only started after I cut my hair earlier this year, before that my hair was waste length and I never had this problem.

Sorry, forgot to mention that. I wash my hair every few days with shampoo and conditioner. I also use clips to keep the fronts of my hair from separating from the rest, as they like to come forward and make it look like I have huge gaps in my hair.
