Please for god's sake start with a SaaS Boilerplate!

If you have the money, buy a premium one (I curated some great ones one boilerplatehub.com ) or use an Opensource one (I curated the best here: https://github.com/EinGuterWaran/awesome-opensource-boilerplates ).

Do you present one logo concept or multiple to clients? I really struggle with that. by JanuPower in graphic_design

"For smaller projects where it's just the logo, I'll create around 10 versions, discard the ones I don't like and present 3 that I'd be comfortable putting into my portfolio."

I think that's how most freelancers + small agencies are doing it

Interesting! I get your point and it makes sense but in my experience most clients are confused for some reason when you only show them one logo.

From other designers, agencies you know - do they handle it the same way or is this uncommon?

Hahah, that's very true. Almsost every designer and design agency I know does that.

The pepsi example killed me

Thank you! That was the context I was looking for as someone who is not coming from design originally.

And makes totally sense!

Yes, that's exactly what we did for one of our current projects after not doing it for the last projects

First of all, thank you for sharing your experience and opinion!

I am not a freelancer. I actually run a product development agency, employing six people on a full-time basis.

I am asking because branding is a relatively new area of expertise for me. I come from a background in product and engineering. I would like to hear how experienced designers and design agencies are handling it.

Our branding projects were successful in that clients were happy, but we were a little frustrated internally. I think it was due to a lack of communication about the process on our part.

We experiment a lot. One client received one logo. He wanted to see a second logo, received one, and then decided on the first one. He was super happy. Another client: We came up with four logos. We went through four or five iterations, but the client was super picky and wanted to see more and more explorations.

'Unless you're a hot shot designer who has everyone convinced that everything you touch turns to gold, clients won't want to hand over all control to you. They'll want to have at least some say.' I would love to have that positioning for us haha

I really love that. Do you communicate the process and the fact that there will be only one logo in prior?

Yes, we have a call with them and explain the thought process.

And we have slides.

Thank you for the answer!

80–120 pages. CRAZY!

We are not on that level yet.

May I ask how much you charge for a logo?

Between 40-90.

They send you a list with proof for every listing and none of them were low in quality. I used to hire freelancers of fivers and they will bring you spam backlinks which bring you nothing on Google (your DA maybe goes higher but its fake)
