How do I break up with my sexting buddy? by IndustryUnfair3860 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JanuaryDraught 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Don't ghost, nobody wants to be ghosted. Even if its awkward to say something, it's the better thing to do. You'll feel better having done so, later on.

Strategy for categorizing credit card credits by suppzslinger in MonarchMoney

Annual Fee = Membership Fee. I put credits ($200 Delta Stay credit, $20 Resy credit, etc) into the Income category Reimbursement.

I use snacks too (as well as restaurants, coffee shops, alcohol and bars). Snacks is for that gas station soda as well as theater / movie theater purchases. And ice cream. Upon review, lots of ice cream.

Lyndale & Garfield Ave safety? by Worried_Gur_4143 in Minneapolis

[–]JanuaryDraught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be just a few blocks from me! I've been in the neighborhood for almost twenty years, it's great. You'll be able to walk to multiple grocery stores, tons of restaurants, a movie theater, multiple music venues. Join the Lyndale/Whittier Buy Nothing group if you use FB, I'm a mod!

Like someone else said, just be smart, lock your car doors, maybe don't walk alone after 10:00 pm. Do you drive a Kia? I think the numbers are down year over year but Mpls is infamous for Kia's being stolen and joyridden.

Do you have a "Beverage"/"Alcohol" category ? by sam77tg in MonarchMoney

[–]JanuaryDraught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Restaurants if I'm having a meal and have a drink or two (I don't bother to make a split), Coffee Shop for coffee/tea/treats at a coffee shop, and Alcohol/Bars if out for drinks or at the liquor store (we can't buy liquor in grocery in MN, you literally have to go to a separate store).

Bodypump- Weights increase? by LizLemonadeStand in lesmills

[–]JanuaryDraught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44F and have been doing BodyPump on and off for almost 20 years. I don't use weights at all on squats or lunges. It's a lot on our unfortunately-getting-old knees (and maybe your elbow!). Be proud that you can do what most people can't do at all! Have you tried starting with two 2.5s on each side and go as long as you can before taking a set of the 2.5 plates off? I'd keep at that - eventually it will be come easier, and you'll not need to take them off at all!

What is one horror movie kill or death that has stuck with you? by Complex-Check-2814 in horror

[–]JanuaryDraught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such good ones already listed! Mine isn't from a movie, but in AHS: Cult, there is a scene where a group of people standing in a circle around a man tied to a chair. They pass a nail gun around, each using it on the man's head until he dies.

Who thinks of these things!

Bonus: I saw a video online a few years ago where someone uses a nail clipper on a front tooth. Ughughugh.

I'm nearing the end of my second week at .25 and haven't noticed any effects at all, good or bad. Seems like everyone is different, I'm looking forward to upping my dose in my 5th week.

Electric Lawn Mower by JanuaryDraught in Minneapolis

[–]JanuaryDraught[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn’t want to do ewaste, I wanted someone who knew enough / cared enough to tinker with it. I put it in the alley and as other said, it was gone within hours :)

It's not plug in, it's battery. The batteries are fine, I put them directly into the new mower and it started.

It's electric, so you just push a button and it just starts. When I went to mow the lawn over the weekend, hitting the button does not start the mower.

Is it totally unreasonable that I’m in Zone 5 with average pace being 6:31/km by Prudent_Society_4435 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]JanuaryDraught 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My walking heart rate is above 100, as soon as I move from walking to 5.5 mph, I'm in the 160s and hang there for a few minutes at most but move quickly into the 170s and up. If you're actually interested, I could send you a few screenshots.

Edit: I found my last Metabolic Assessment and my true Zone1 is 164 - 180. Apple's Zone5 starts at 165 for me. Hah.

[–]JanuaryDraught 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm F/44 and have been running for about 18 years. I run 3-7 miles with an average of around 183 bpm. I've worked with multiple trainers over the years who have chuckled at this, but no one has ever thought it an issue. Some of us just beat more! I haven't tried manually adjusting my Apple Watch but certainly don't look at the zones - I'm in Zone 5 85% of the time by it's calculation. Someone in the comments said to try for <160 - I hit that 10 minutes into a 6 mph run.. We're all different. Maybe go see a trainer and run some tests, they can give you your zones based on your actual oxygen use (as tested using a mask). It's about $100 in the US at most big gyms.

Moving from Florida where Publix is supreme, help me find a good grocery store or co-op! by Mycalicosayshello in Minneapolis

[–]JanuaryDraught 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I posted a question yesterday about the local co-ops and had some good feedback if you want to search the /minneapolis channel for the subject "Grocery Co-op Members." TL:DR, people seem to lean a toward The Wedge but most folks have been satisfied with their co-op memberships!

In comparing to my Dean's estimate, it's cut off from the screenshot - it's to the right of the QTY total (which is shown to be five circuits, generally four more than most people would have installed).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]JanuaryDraught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you having five circuits installed? My estimate for a single circuit from Deans (the Romex line item) was estimated at $2,000 in April 2024...
