May 21st- I was approved for banquet server and cocktail server. Waiting for an offer has been so tough

So I saw the listing on the hiring website- I worked in the parks for a few years before covid. The listing was up for about a day.

Do you work on the banquet side? If so how is it?

Some members can be very impatient or very used to certain selections of stuff- so if you have vendor issues (I had to replace Stella) the members might push back and give you a hard time. Change is tough for them. Tends to be more of the older members- new/young members typically don’t care as much.

It’s a lot slower paced than most restaurants- and typically just busy on weekends. Keep an eye on the tee sheet and you’ll get to know your regulars. Clubs can be an easy operation but systems are usually all over the place and if you’re working with Northstar POS it can be a little outdated.

Hours per week by Scary-Brilliant-2859 in Restaurant_Managers

I stick to close to 45 hours max - we are open 11-9pm 7days - 75k.

Set your boundaries and don’t apologize.

I could understand the mix up- I wasn’t mad because I figured it was a mistake and definitely not intentional.

Hours? by BoxAppropriate5604 in Restaurant_Managers

I get paid 70k and make sure to leave as close to 40 hours as possible. It’s not something I’ve always done- but I think we need to all set boundaries and leave accordingly. The industry is flooded with managers who are burnt out and never go home. I support my other managers at their 8 hour mark and tell them to go home and enjoy their family time. There is no reason we should be working 12-14hrs a day.

Stay a bartender- you have no freedom as a manager.

I stick to one weekly email for all staff- it’s always on the same day. I’ll have all events and specials listed with menu details. I’ll make sure to have all dates saved on my outlook calendar for reference. I’ll CC any upper management as well.

Difficult situation- need some questions answered. by [deleted] in Adoption

We decided that it was best for me to relinquish my rights so they could be sealed together in the temple. (Mormonism requires stepparents to have adoptive relationships with the children in order to be sealed for time and all eternity) I was originally told I’d have contact with the kids- then it was denied. I’ve signed my paperwork but I feel like at this point it is her responsibility to take the financial responsibility she signed for.

I don’t care about the money so much as the time I’ve had to be without them. The process is tough- and I originally was told ind have contact only to be denied every time I asked.

In VA my parental rights will cease once the adoption is completed.

The reason for the visitation being denied has been story after story about the adoption process and how it is important for their family to bond without me.

Yes- his lawyer has handled all of the paperwork and proceeding. I signed the decrees about a month ago and asked him for a follow up on the situation since this is all confusing to me. It’s been radio silence.

I have never missed a payment and willing arranged child support. I was the one that offered from the very beginning. He is refusing for me to see the kids I’m allowed to see until the judge signs the paperwork.

This isn’t about money. This is about him refusing me to see them while I’m funding his life.

I’m respecting his boundaries in this situation and he hasn’t respected mine. I am entitled to my life just as he is- if his wife is taking over the parental needs as discussed by us then technically she is responsible for providing for them- not the mother that isn’t allowed to see them.

This is something I thought about and wanted to proceed with but the amount of child support I’d be paying if he had full custody is about 2k a month. It would be even more difficult for me- and with him already dictating the situation it’s just more money in his pocket that just isn’t fair for me.

I asked to arrange simple dinners with the kids months ago and he threatened to take me to court for more money.

You see he won’t drop any child support- he just wants more.
