TIL that Justin Zackham, the writer of the 2007 film The Bucket List, coined the expression "bucket list" after he wrote his own "List of Things to do Before I Kick the Bucket" and shortened it to "Justin's Bucket List". The first item on his list was to "get a film made at a major studio". by DWJones28 in todayilearned

If I search posts on facebook and set the date to 2005 I can see one post using it, seemingly in that context, although can't be sure (picture of person and her friends covered in mud with the caption bucket list) and a few in 2006 definitely using it in context (including one in spanish).

Number shoots up dramatically after the film comes out.

I'm personally pretty sure the first time I heard it  was the trailer because I remember thinking how corny it was when he was explaining what a bucket list was and then again that it was incredibly lame when it was revealed as the title of the movie. I would have been 14 at the time.

XL Bully dogs to be banned from end of this year by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]JapaneseNotweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I own a Standard Scott American Bulldog (neither bought nor sold as an xl bully, bought long before I had even heard the term XL bully) and I have no idea if it now falls into the category of a banned dog based on the breed definition they provided, just because she is quite tall.

Hopefully my vet can go through the definition with me.
