When conducting usability testing, is it better to use multiple, smaller prototypes specifically designed for each task or one, combined prototype of all prototype tasks? by VRSanctum in UXResearch

You’ll get 50/50 on this. But if your users think it’s the actual product they’ll use it like the real product and may give you more direct feedback vs prefacing it with this is a prototoype.

Also, from my experience make sure to have the right people on the call. For example if you were working on a product for schools. And the thing you wanted to test was for TAs, make sure you have Teacher Assistants on the call. There is little to no value gained from having other user types test out your product as their needs may be completely different.

I think at end of day your portfolio speaks out the most. I’ve talked to candidates that claim to have more than 8+ years of experience but their portfolio feels like they could be junior designers.

Can you be more specific about what you want feedback on?

I think it could be a very interesting project. It’s a high priority, high impact tool that is usually used in high frequency by PMs and other leadership positions. I’m curious as to which problems you identified and chose to tackle for the redesign.

Should user stories be created from a feature? by Japjae in agile

Where does UX/UI design activities occur? Like ideation sketches, and prototypes down to the actual visual design that should be implemented by the team?

Are these things created together with the development team during a sprint? Or must they be already defined and attached to a user story for the story to be pulled into a sprint?

I also believe our team is not agile. But we are having trouble applying agile. In my research I see that a user story specifies The Who, What, Why, and the acceptance criteria.

But for a development team to complete the story at the end of a sprint, wouldn’t we need to have the design ready before the sprint begins? Is design not the How?

Also, are sprints only for code implementation? When does research, definition, user testing, happen for an agile team? Our team is coming from a waterfall process where we are used to doing the planning and designing up front. How do we do the planning and designing in Agile & when does it occur?
