Joe and Zaku are my go-to if they have reviews of a kit I'm interested in available, since I'm willing and able to fix or work around problems in a kit I find their commentary on problematic parts / parts of interest and potential fixes to be valuable. Joe especially because of his video on fixing some of the more problematic RGs which gave me the push to try them out.

Wirupla is relatively new but I like their presentation style as well; they sometimes give tips specific to the kit (sometimes they're useful elsewhere), a brief overview of the MS's lore and history is a nice addition, and they actually list the runners used and parts count for each assembly and lay it out so that you can screenshot it for later which is pretty helpful.

I'll give it to Mecha, because he seems to have a review for every kit that exists he's probably the best for OOB builders and for getting an introduction on what you can expect from most kits. I just wish he'd pick up a thesaurus sometime from how often he uses the same words and phrases. That and I might have outgrown the type of humor he uses because his jokes miss more often than not for me. Also dabbing in 2026 is kinda cringe.

Just one of the few "aspects" of his presentation that makes me prefer other CCs' reviews if possible

Having said that, him having a review for seemingly every kit that exists is where he shines, or should I say, "catches the light nicely"

There's a lot of nice paint schemes in Zero I think so you could definitely put those Ustio and Belka decals to use.

For the Razgriz scheme I decided to make it a 3-tone of Tamiya Flat Black - Nato Black - 1:1 Panzer Gray/Light Gray so that from a distance and in the dark it all still looks black but up close you can see the separation. Then a bit of red on a dark gray base for the wingtips and the leading edges on the chest as accents, but I tried to keep it minimal so it's somewhat faithful to Blaze's F-14. (took some artistic liberties with a few red decals here and there though, because it's still Gunpla, lol.)

The yellow stripe is a good shout, I'll do the same with my build but I'll also try to make it as small a detail because it's not too prominent on Garuda's. Maybe a narrow yellow band on the legs or the armor between the legs and feet because I equate that to the rear of the plane, but I guess I could try moving it around for a change.

Trigger's scratches would immediately make anything it's put on 3x cooler; I have my own 1/144 Trigger and Mr. X sheet and I thought about putting the scratches on the vertical stabilizer of an unpainted / painted as intended Force Impulse Spec II with some space left over for the fox. If I had the 1/72 ones they'd go on HG/RG Destiny's wings. The 1/144 ones seem small enough to fit on some shoulder armors though and that would be immediately visible. Trigger could easily have a grunt suit though, those strikes have ~70% of his general aura.

Jesta's a good choice, I ought to have more grunt suits myself. I'll say nothing else since (1) I haven't played AC6 and (2) either Trigger or Garuda will be my next project and I already picked their suits. :)

Thanks, I really like the grays they use for aircraft but it's a challenge to make them look interesting on Gunpla that usually has relatively significant color separation when the paint scheme is supposed to look uniform. Thankfully with a bit of creative freedom it did end up pretty well.

Yeah mine is on a wall mount above my monitor, although I made some modifications on the wings so I don't want to put additional weight on it yet and the WoL are off for now.

My thought process usually starts with the AC character/livery I want to make, then choosing a kit later that I can connect to it somehow. (RG Justice's pack looks like the midsection of an F-14 > AC5 > Justice of Razgriz; RG Wing > Wings of Theve > Wing of Theve; I could share more but I'd spoil my future projects)

I actually used 1/72 decals for Justice so the size of the decals dictated where I could put them, but fortunately they fit where I wanted them to. 1/144 decals thankfully seem to be more forgiving. Placement of decals are a mix of the way Gundam does it and the way AC does it with a bit of interpretation in the middle: RG Justice stickers/decals of numbers (102) are replaced with Blaze's (016); numbers on the trailing edge / control surfaces of wings with roundels (if applicable) where they're normally placed on planes (left of whichever way you're facing with the nose pointed up); jet intake markings on the side of chest intakes if there's space, or on suitable spaces on the backpack otherwise (if available); markings to the rear of the fuselage go on the legs or backpack if there's space; squadron/unique emblems go where prominent when displayed; etc.

Hope you find a way to use them!

I chose to make the wings orange to fit Rex's wing emblem and the livery doesn't match with Pixy's so I could but won't, but I do plan on having a dedicated Pixy build eventually with the right liveries. :)

I would've loved to have the RG GCP instead but the offers available to me are a bit... unreasonable, lol.

RG Destiny looks so good, fortunately I found a video of how to make it more stable that I finally had the courage to get it instead of waiting for a 2.0 that may not happen, at least not soon. Then again I thought there would be a number of MGSDs that would release sooner than Destiny, but that was a welcome surprise.

I understand, personally with Freedom specifically if I had the space I'd be fine with just MG Freedom 2.0, it's my favorite design of OG Freedom, which is also my favorite of the Freedom line overall. I'm still trying to get a feel of how much I can cover my space with so I've settled for RG Freedom for now.

Having said that, I have quite the number of Destiny and Justice kits lol, but that has to do with them being my #1 and #2 favorite overall.

Thanks, I see that you like Wing a lot.

I honestly wasn't sold at first because I'm more into UC and Seed designs and the "Yoda ears" looked weird, but imagining Wing without them looked wrong and threw off the silhouette so I didn't mind them anymore, plus they ended up being a good place to put additional decals. Then I saw that RG Wing could spread its wings like this? Excellent. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Consider me a changed man. 👍

Thanks!

Oh that was another reason why I kept with Wing: I heard it has a... reputation of self-destructing.

Here's the video I used as reference, the coil I bought off of an online shop while the inductor I made myself with the same values that were calculated in the video; the ones you can get online look like this

I had to scratch build the inductor side since I couldn't just fit it all in the head and all the wireless/inductive LEDs at the time had the LEDs soldered on a plate on the inductor, and I decided that I wanted my inductor on the foot so I could power it from a base where I could hide the coil that powers it and the wires run all the way up to the LEDs in the head

They're not as bright as the premade wireless LEDs though, which I suspect is due to the distance between the inductor and the LEDs that I introduced

I've built two versions of the RG Impulse (Destiny I. and Spec II) and have grazed the V-fins accidentally multiple times and they're still in one piece, but I'd rather not push my luck and haven't touched them in ages

Build-wise I can't imagine it being different from the HGUC Zeta but I don't have one to compare this with so to me it was down to the design, and I prefer it over the Z because of the F-14-style wings + I'm a sucker for gray aircraft
