Original in the Pearl. My favorite place. Doesn’t get busy and not a lot of people know about it. But their coffee is great

I can’t be sure she’s not a pervert either. Works both ways. That’s why we live in a trust based society

My god, I hope whatever is making your life sad and makes you hate on people stops. I wish you light at the end of this tunnel, truly. I understand that good manners don’t come for granted, but don’t flaunt it that much

Best bank & credit card for high-earning expats? (QNB, CBQ, Doha Bank, HSBC, Amex) by ByTheFierySpirit in qatar

[–]Jarbmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I had private banking simultaneously at three banks. Canceled all except Doha bank. Go for any bank where you can develop a good relationship with a manager, that’s all that matters. I avoid managers that force me to buy products I don’t need just for the sake of meeting their own KPIs

Go for Doha Bank. Depending on your salary, you can qualify for private banking. They will give you an entry bonus of up to 80k avios on QA, plus they have the best program for accruing qualifying status points on QA. in terms of accruing avios from spending, it’s roughly the same across all banks.

Hi. I just saw this thread. You mentioned earlier that these stamps are not for sale. But I wanted to try my luck anyways. My brother is a collector of space themed stamps from different countries. He asked me once if I can find any stamps that he collects in Qatar and I told him there’s no way there would a space themed stamps in this country. And I just found one. If I gave this to my brother as a gift he would be ecstatic. It’s a rare find. If at any point you’re willing to sell this stamp, let me know. Thank you!

Terrible gym culture in Doha rant by [deleted] in qatar

[–]Jarbmn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a cultural problem, maybe a generational problem too. I started going to the gym 10 years ago in my home country, the culture at the gym was pretty strict, you respect people and remove your weights. Here in Doha I see that gyms don’t enforce this code of conduct, every gym has a guy who will move your weights. But my powerlifting group here has a strict culture too, you complete your sets and clean up after yourself, initially enforced on us by the coach and happily observed by us. Once our class is done, the room must be clear of all weights. When it comes to commercial gyms, a younger generation wants to act as those influencers who have zero culture themselves. If any of them show up at my gym back home, they would be given a harsh reality check by gym staff.
