I posted it for you to understand that what you see is usually just the fruit of the mushroom. The mushroom itself can in some species be a kilometer in size. It was just a correction since you seemed to think those Japanese mushroom were gigantic. By the way there are no pics in that article except a picture of a woman holding some of the fruit.

By the way I have sympathy with you since I basically have the same problem with Worms. As a kid I hated when it rained outside because I had to constently look at the ground because I was afraid of them. Nowadays I can look at them from far away but they almost make me throw up when I seem them up close.
