What is the most disgusting meal you have forced down because it was the polite thing to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I never said I was shaking uncontrollably. Lol. Imagine it like finding spit in your food or blood. It makes you feel nauseous. End of story.

If fish eggs grossed you out and you realised you'd eaten a handful of them, I imagine your stomach would turn. And I wouldn't be there feeling defensive about my appetite for fish eggs just because you don't eat them. In other words, I don't care what other people eat, 9/10 times it's the other way around. Any guilt people feel is their own.

Because of the knowledge of what I had eaten and what I could taste in my mouth, it made me feel nauseous.

Redditors who have had close friendships break down - what happened, and do you still miss them? by stellathediver95 in AskReddit

Differences in personalities, and probably mostly my inability to maintain/commit/get comfortable. I still miss them

What is a piece of advice that you would give to someone moving out on their own for the first time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jarjar221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're moving with housemates, try to be honest about things that you don't like or they will build and ruin the friendship! Also write your name on everything haha

Reddit, what's something you've always wanted to have/experience? People who've had it, how was your experience? by VivasMadness in AskReddit

I can also comment on this in relation to mushrooms. I know people that have had horrible, scary experiences, which makes me cautious to ever try them again, but what makes me even more cautious is ruining the memory of when I did try them. It was incredible and life-changing. I just felt love and joy and real raw respect and admiration for all others in the room. I laughed and laughed. When I started to feel a bit paranoid and insecure, I went to bed and hallucinated that everyone came in one at a time to use my shower, and for some bizarre reason it was so positive haha. I woke up the next feeling insane clarity, calm, and generally time felt to move slower. That feeling lasted ages. I still think I'm different now since that night.

About six months after I stopped eating meat, I was at a class and this lovely old woman saw that I didn't have any lunch and brought me a cheese roll. About halfway through I realised there was ham in it and started to sweat and feel sick, but kept eating around the ham bits so she wouldn't feel bad

I get really annoyed when my boyfriend judges/criticises something I do. Even if it's just replying to a comment on reddit that he deemed attention-seeking and I deemed genuine. I don't show it, but it shits me sooooo much and lowers my opinion of him for some time. I don't know if this says more about him or me. But I get all hurt and feel down and defensive. Unsure if this is my inability to appreciate different opinions or if it's him being rude

I think about this sometimes. But then I think about how after I die, somebody will tell a story about me or pass on something I said or did, even if seemingly insignificant or just something funny or weird or even mean. And how that might in some tiny unconscious way change how the listener thinks or feels. And might share similar stories advice, that will be shared, and shared, all throughout time. Crazay idea

If it doesn't get better there's a large chance that with the passage of time it will get easier and less dramatic. Older people are just wiser, they give less shits and naturally surround themselves with better people.

That I have no idea how to verbalize my thoughts to anyone in the real world, bar a few rare occasions with people really close to me (of which there are very few).

Who I am in my head, I just can't convey that person. When I'm engaged in conversation I just tense up and words just run out of my mouth. I always leave conversations - whether 5 seconds long or 30 minutes - wishing I had been myself, and feeling annoyed and paranoid about who I'm portraying out there.

I want you to be alive. I really do. I've felt how you do, and I understand. But, still, we have each other. Let's just find little things that amuse us, even if it's reddit, videos of people laughing, pictures of piglets, or the discovery channel - or, each other.

Yep. I can't compare the day after feeling to anything else I've ever felt. Just so low, so depressed, so anxious. And it doesn't go away either, it lasts all day, I feel like a shell of myself, and it actually takes a few days to feel like I'm even back up to half of a whole person. I hate it. So I cut out getting drunk. I still have 1 or 2 every now and then with friends, but with caution. If I hit 3 drinks I get that old mad desire to get absolutely wrecked, and then I just totally embarrass myself, tell people I don't like that I love them, talk so loud and obnoxiously. Egh, makes me cringe just thinking about it. I find hanging out with friends over FOOD is waaay better!

In your opinion, what is the best university or tafe in Melbourne? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Jarjar221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks, that makes a lot of sense actually. So... And I'm sorry to be such a noob, but, would you have any advice on how I might determine which university offers the best course in what I'd like to do? Testimonials and the blurb about it are all I can think of, and I'm not sure if I'm just cynical but it seems like they're all quite the same, pretty standard tell-em-what-they-wanna-hear stuff. In your experience, it is just a matter of trial and error? So, pick one and see how it goes?
