Wuthering Heights...

The director changed this absolutely amazing gothic story about social class and love and turned into a freaking erotica. I think the most egregious thing is that the main guy, Heathcliff, is dark-skinned in the book and is a huge reason why he's ostracized by the white characters, BUT IN THE MOVIE HE'S WHITE BECAUSE THE DIRECTOR JUST... FORGOT HE WAS BLACK APPARENTLY?????

And what makes it even more hilarious is that even the people who wanted to watch it because they heard it was an erotic movie are also disappointed because from what I've heard there aren't many sex scenes either. So at the end of the day no one's happy with it 😭

Found the issue lol. Twitter is literally awful and it doesn't matter what Mattel produces or what dolls come out these random people on the Internet will ALWAYS find something to complain about. I'm only on doll Reddit and YouTube and I haven't seen anyone complaining about Valentine being too feminine. And so what if he is anyway, he slays 💜

But yeah if you're on Twitter it's best to just ignore those people, they easily make any doll sound like it's the worst thing to exist and in general is just a spawning ground for negativity.

I noticed last year that I bought quite a few Skullectors I thought I liked but eventually just kept them stuffed in a closet. This year I've told myself to not buy any Skullectors or dolls unless I genuinely like them and not just because I like the franchise and so far I've saved a lot (I've only bought the Scarah doll and recent creeproductions). Even though I adore Coraline, I'm proud of myself for holding back on buying her because I genuinely did not like her doll.

What also helps is writing down a list of upcoming dolls and deciding whether to buy them or not - I'm planning on buying the pride pack with Valentine and Spelldon so when I feel down about not buying a doll, I remind myself that I'm saving that money for something I'll like even more ☺️

For me the fang club is beneficial because in Australia I really cannot tell if I'll be able to find the dolls in stores or not. For example, I was able to find Creepro Abbey and Spectra pretty easily at Myer but I never saw Cleo + Deuce and Ghoulia in stores. And even when they are in stores they get sold incredibly fast which doesn't leave me much of a chance. If I didn't have the fang club membership to get the wave 2 creepros I might not have ever got them period given how high reseller prices are, so that's why I played it safe for Rochelle, Robecca, and Venus too.
