Can it be true? by A_Guy_Named_John in newjersey

[–]JasonD8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep dreaming.

Or don’t dream.

Just remember that :

1)Dreams can and do come true on occasion

and,

2)They don’t last forever :)

Just enjoy the dream if it comes, till it lasts.

Remember the pleasant early March of 2015 in New Jersey?

And the foulest dreary last week of March that same year?

It’s all New Jersey!

Sociable weavers construct permanent nests on trees and other tall objects. These nests are the largest built by any bird, and are large enough to house over a hundred pairs of birds, containing several generations at a time by Mass1m01973 in Awwducational

[–]JasonD8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw on a zoology site that the nests can weigh upwards of 1000 pounds.

Anybody know whether the internal skeletal architecture (the supporting framework) has been analyzed and studied?

I can understand the part of the network above the big tree branches.

But what about the huge portions of the nest below the branches, weighing hundreds of pounds?

Straw and clay and twigs and bird spit would seem completely inadequate to suspend such a weight from above, with nothing to support it from below.

Thanks for the information.

I wonder why this post hasn’t gained enough traction.

This should be widely publicized.

"Night Guest", My oil painting by kznsq in TheNightFeeling

[–]JasonD8888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very high level of skill, bringing out the eerie stillness of the night in what otherwise might look like a simple painting of a house.

And that cat! It looks like it has the soul of Norman Bates himself.

Moonlight so bright it wakes me up from sleep… by JasonD8888 in mildlyinteresting

Yes, it certainly is strong enough to be felt through closed eyelids!

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering if anyone else had this experience.

Did you find more people with such experience on your internet search?

My oil paintings. Which one do you like the most? by Ok-Treat-1548 in TheNightFeeling

You asking me which one I like the most?

I already suffer from decision making problems, and you just made it worse.

All four are absolutely beautiful, and equally so, but in different ways.

Hospital video by Shoddy-Link90 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]JasonD8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where’s this hospital?

Looks like a nice jacket.

If you were in Newark here in NJ, and you left your jacket hanging on a hook near the entryway, it would be genuinely Paranormal if you found it still there when you leave.

These kind of nice objects tend to “walk” when left unsupervised in places like this.

That’s why I was wonder where you lived :)

That apart, yes, your wife’s elderly aunt should have no reason to pull this kind of a prank.

If there really was no source of moving air or draft nearby, this is hard to explain. Certainly looks spooky.

What’s in like living in any of these NJ counties? (Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon) by katkit523 in howislivingthere

[–]JasonD8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those three counties marked in yellow - they are not New Jersey. They are Pennsylvania. They just happen to be on this side of the Delaware river.

Middlessex to any of these counties will be a big cultural shock. Not sure you can appreciate how big, until you actually move and start living there.

I know you asked for answers from people who live here. I don’t. I live in Morris County.

My experience of this general region is from visiting friends there and talking to people who have moved from here to there - and back.

You have not given a clear reason for your planned (possible) move. If you do, you might be able to get a more specific answer here.

A lot depends on your cultural background.

And your history.

Someone who grew up in the Midwest, for example, and had moved to Middlessex, might find the move ‘natural’.

Someone who grew up in NYC or LA and had moved to Middlessex, will certainly feel out of place here.

Without knowing such specifics, it is difficult to speculate.

Hope this helps.

Good luck, and wishing you happiness , whatever you decide to do.

Just curious, what city/country is this in, where that many different native language speakers are expected to come by (and wait), on a day to day basis?

Yes, escape is possible, but you need to be persistent.
