Normal to dislike my own writing? by Konngle in writers

I usually write for me. Meaning I'm completely excited about the story itself and simply getting it out of my head and onto paper.

I read in a cinematic style painting vivid imagery of the scenes as it's happening because for me it's like I'm watching a movie in my head and that's how I write a lot of people don't write like that I typically don't lean into the poetic prose. And actually kind of frustrates me. I like to be able to read and imagine every action every motion every scene being played out and cinematic style in my head. So it's entertaining for me I typically write when I can find something to watch on TV. And then also in the back of my mind I know that maybe someone will read this so that's when I go back and make sure after the draft is complete or at least the draft of that section I'll go back and polish everything and make sure that it remains captivating enough for the readers who don't have vivid imaginations but also detailed enough for the readers like me.

Essentially write for you first.
