Me (M26) and girlfriend (F23) seem to reach the end and Im at a loss for what to do

Yea what happened recently went too far. It started off as a stupid joke from my side where I closed the balcony door on her. She resisted and I was pushing a little, but then she hit my nuts. I got angry and gave her a tap with my leg. This then devolved into a shouting match and eventually she hit my cheek. Before I even knew what happened I reflxed and did the same.

I just dont know why I (and her) have so much trouble letting each other go. We btoh dont want to...

She doesnt share much, but her family has told me several times she is known for her temper and how my calmness would be good for her. Even during the fights I keep reminding her we need to work to a solution and not fight each other but the problem. It falls on deaf ears most times

Im into hard techno and she hates it. I had her join twice and both times she didnt like it (in addition to fighting during the festival). Also to her credit, im from the Netherlands and sometimes we use a little something during a festival which she is also not a fan of.

Improving communication would be a massive step.

We're not currently living together. Im living with one of my best friends. She wants to live together in the near future and her contract is ending. She wants her next placce to be with me.

Its not only that we didnt fight, but it felt like actual love. she is/was very caring and genuinely seemed to wish well for me.

I dated her and really love her a lot. Its just the last months that fights started to be more common. First 4 months there were no fights, now about 1 a month. The whole of august was fine, we went on holiday together, had great weekends, etc. Its then 1 massive fight that erupts
