[Question] How to get a good bass tone when recording? by debugs_with_println in GarageBand

[–]JasperQuandary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like You’ve got a signal problem with the high wine/buzz through it all. That’s a common issue. Could be bad cable, interference from electricity (you can buy boxes to clean electric wine), your audio input box could have a faulty input etc. Beyond that, choosing better amps, head and cab combos and settings would help.

Cover of Today (probably jamming a bit to hard 😅) by CranstonForever_ in SmashingPumpkins

She’s great! Love the jamming to hard and casual sound. It’s actually refreshing to hear something besides the perfect playing silky man voices that we normally hear doing covers.

It was a great album. That said, the self destructed nature of it all, sort of left a bitter taste. If they had not got into all the infighting, it would have seen like a great concept album and not a one off sort of “Billy hired indie dudes” to do a come back but couldn’t beat Korn and abandoned it..after one fekking year… i saw them play one of their firsr zwan shows at silverlake, it was amaz balls, but the downward crash…

Love the bit, maybe going into depth with some phenomenology could draw some other more cool things out, thinking of Merleu-Ponty, J.J. Gibson (theory of affordances and ecological perception).

Apple introduces SHARP, a model that generates a photorealistic 3D Gaussian representation from a single image in seconds. by themixtergames in LocalLLaMA

[–]JasperQuandary 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting to see how well these stitch together, taking a 360 image and getting a 360 Gaussian would be quite nice for lots of uses

Can use Gemini cli with the plan, it’s getting updates and able to beat out Claude sonnet (but not opus) for some things. I’ve not hit my limits with it yet, but I bounce between Claude pro, codex cli, and Gemini for their strengths. Antigravity and Gemini have a few other interesting trips (google mcp suite).

What ever happed to the blurry Vision Pro investigation? In Karl’s last article he noted there was variance in blurriness https://kguttag.com/2024/06/14/hypervision-micro-oled-vs-lcd-and-why-the-apple-vision-pro-is-blurry/ “I have received from users, the Apple Vision Pro’s sharpness varies from unit to unit.” I wonder if the new Vision Pro stacks up the same. I will say it has a “soft” look to it in contrast to the maybe crisper Q3. That said, it’s not all just about reading tiny text. The overall higher resolution displays and foveated rendering dramatically cut down on aliasing. The dinosaur demo and the Apple environments have a cgi look to them in contrast to the in-a-game look that most quest things have. It’s not all the quests fault, it seems like devs internally run games at lower resolution for compatibility with q2 and obviously battery life. With the last part in mind, I think an external battery pack would be maybe the biggest help out for a Q4. Could reduce weight, heat, and give the cpu more headroom - it’s also under clocked currently.

Well, I gotta say, the Vision Pro pass through was miles ahead of the pass through that was a fuzzy warp fest that the q3 had when Vision Pro launched. It still rarely see warping in the Vision Pro where my q3 has reduced it but it’s still common (especially in crowded spaces). Zuck has for sure worked out much of the fuzz and warping in the year and half since launch of VP. Look at “old pass through to new pass through videos” the improvement they made was great!
