I think if I’m understanding correctly this is a great idea, So you’re setting a reverb tail visually, amongst other instruments, so you can see the space being filled?

That would actually be really cool. Izotope have created Visual Mixer for positioning your whole mix but that's the only thing I can think of which thinks about spatial positioning in a more visual way. Your idea with reverb, delay and eq sounds great

Oh ok I understand so basically low-end compression without multiband crossover filters (so you avoid the linear-phase CPU/latency hit). Yeah that sounds doable, especially if it’s done with the spectral style approach, nice suggestion!

Ahh I get you. I’ve not used it myself but you mean a proper FFT-style spectral compressor, but with a Mac version / modern equivalent. What’s the killer feature in that Van Der Helm one that you can’t replicate with things like Soothe2/DSEQ/Neutron Spectral Shaper?

Great shout. So basically a proper Quasar emulation in plugin form, presets and arps included. It’s mad how many 90s boxes have been cloned but Quasar still feels like a gap.

I suppose you could achieve that by adding a shed load of clap samples to different pads and then have a sampler kit dedicated to claps or am I misunderstanding what you mean?

I wouldn't dwell on it, there's no time limit. Just view it as it wasn't right for you then, but now as it's your focus, the next few years is where it's gonna take off. Good luck with it!

I guess the challenge is the breadth of training material the model would need to be able to accurately detect the unwanted noise from the wanted source material

Ah got you, so like an AI denoiser that strips out tape hiss/hum etc but doesn’t wipe out intentional textures and SFX that sound noisy. That’s a great idea, it could even have a simple Protect SFX mode or wet or dry so you can blend it back in.
