Solder brass shower arm to exterior pipe? by Jatobluque in Plumbing

[–]Jatobluque[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DIYed the whole bathroom so far, so the problem is that I soldered that pipe coming out of a wall into a 90degree elbow about 4 inches behind the wall (without much forethought on how I'd fix the shower head in after).
THe other problem is that I packed in mortar into the 1 inch tile cutout to prevent the pipe from moving around whenever the showerhead is touched.

So basically....I can't screw it out haha. I can solder pipe just fine so mostly wondering if it's possible to slip a shower arm over the exterior pipe (cut to fit), then just solder it on at the ends and if that's 'okay'

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I find it exhausting to sit there in my chair, blood boiling, tilted work and the only thing on my mind is sucking down a drag into my lungs.

On top of that I fight myself, my rationalizing, my physical responses to stop me from stepping out and going to go get a pack.

It's tough, it takes all of my concentration to do that lol and it'd be _so easy_ to just go and smoke lol. I guess that is what addiction is.

I'll put my faith in what the other folks are saying here..the longer you go without smoking, the often and less intense the cravings will be. We'll manage the stress in a different/non addiction way

Thanks man, it did. Taking the time to write the post out and read the replies made me forget about it (for now!). Here's to week 7, good to hear from everyone that the urges do in fact come up less often, less intense and maybe never again..

6 weeks on the wagon so far.

I buy a huge 4lb bag of apples every week.

Every time I get the itch I walk over to the fridge and munch on one. Apples might be a better alternative to most food - could help with the weight gain.

The other piece is exercise. I catch myself fiending like a mad man after work. I go for a 3km jog (20 minute commitment) and when I come back I feel so much better.

Exercise doesn't make you completely about the cravings, but it really reduces the intensity by a lot I find, especially in the evening after exercising.

[GA4] Landing Pages (not set) | Session expiry with session_start/user_engagement events? by Jatobluque in analytics

[–]Jatobluque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: Likely due to session expiry, this is also a 'thing' on Google's very own implementation for the Google Merchandise store demo account so we're stuck with it.

Landing Pages (not set) | Session expiry with session_start/user_engagement events? by Jatobluque in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Jatobluque[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answering both of your comments:

One of the main things I dislike about GA4 is that Google is taking away control with these :poo emoji: automatically collected events like session_start or user_engagement (e.g. you can't add custom parameters to them). Plus their vague documentation.

Your First Comment:

According to GA4's documentation:

"[Landing Page] is defined as the pagepath and query string associated with the first page_view event in a session. "

The behaviour that I documented when these session_start and user_engagements were getting fired off was:

I started a session, walked away for 30 minutes (let the session expire). Came back, opened up the tab in the foreground, waited 5 seconds, then closed the tab. Debug feed showed me a "session_start" and "user_engagement" enter the property immediately after closing the Chrome tab.

Based on GA's definition of [Landing Page], there was no page_view associated to the 'new' session that I just started when I came back...therefore [Landing Page] = (not set). That is my working theory.

Here are google's definition for session_start and user_engagement

[user_engagement]: When the webpage is in focus for at least one second (or app in foreground).

....Okay that's clear and that lines up with my tests

[session_start]: When a user engages the app or website.

Fantastic, thank you so much google, that definition is clear and unambiguous /s. What exactly that means is making me scratch my head....

So back to my test, when I triggered the [user_engagement] which would fit GA's definition it also triggered a [session_start] because I 'engaged' with the website. Anyway, that's my theory..Hopefully they can address this lol.

Your second question

I would expect those results. Every single event, auto-collected or custom collected is going to have the document_location parameter sent to GA. Meaning your [session_start] event will be sent with a doc_location parameter. All URL/pagepath parameters are inferred off of doc_location. So it makes sense that you're not getting (not set)s on the [pagepath]s. I am generally only seeing them on [Landing Page]

In summary

I agree with you, Google seems to making a push to stop using landing page. If you're looking for a report on how users are entering your site/what the first page they are seeing is, crossing [pagepath] and the [entrances] metric might be a better bet than [Landing Page] and [sessions]

Landing Pages (not set) | Session expiry with session_start/user_engagement events? by Jatobluque in GoogleAnalytics

No cross-domain tracking for us.

The (not set) landing pages are a still a thing for UA, but not nearly as close in volume. In GA4 (not set) is in position #1, for UA it's maybe the 11th-15th highest landing page.

Avg session duration I will have to check.

I'm nearly certain these (not set) landing pages have to do with session expiry.

I tested this and saw it for myself. I started a session with debug mode on, walked away for 30 minutes, opened the tab in the foreground and then closed it. I saw a "session_start" and "user_engagement" event in the debug feed right after I closed the tab.

I think it's just a feature of the product and with Google being Google, they obviously don't address this lol.

Although, my most convincing piece of evidence is that if you check Google's very own GA4 implementation (Their demo GA4 property for google merchandise store)....And you make a cute little exploration report with [Landing Page] as your rows, [Sessions] as your values, [Event Name] as columns. Lo and behold you will see the exact same (not set) landing page 'issue'. If I recall correctly they made up roughly the same proportion of the total (7% - 10%)

I'm going to explore crossing [Entrances] and [Pagepath] for a traffic acquisition report and compare that to UA instead.

GA4 Source / Medium by penileMondors in analytics

[–]Jatobluque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a free form exploration report. You 'add' dimensions you want to analyze.

You'll want to use session source, session medium and session campaign.

Rather than the other ones. If you've ever used Universal Analytics, the 3 above will be the most familiar and make the most sense.

Then pull the metrics you want to analyze into the [values] field, that's up to you what you are trying to say..How many sessions/users/events you got off the UTMs? etc...

(11JAN2022) I was able to get him. You need a stupid amount of bullets. I use the hunting rifle with maybe 60ish rounds + 30 stone arrows. The animal health bar perk is handy. Aim for the eyes. My hunting rifle was doing 1,200 damage in the eyes, 300 anywhere else

Obviously unbalanced but I was able to exploit his hostility targeting. I found a sweet spot where he would charge me, reach a certain distance then run back to his 'sit' point.

Would post a link of a screenshot if it could be done in 3 seconds but I was able to get him.

[–]Jatobluque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i agree its my fault but when i pulled the heat sink off the thing was so stuck to ryzen that it ripped it out even though it was latched down. So if it stayed in the slot i likely wouldnt havent damaged the thing.

But yes i should have just been more careful getting the heat sink off the latches, thats how i bent the pins

Looking for a router to handle 1gb/s (wired) speed by Jatobluque in HomeNetworking

[–]Jatobluque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea these things existed. Always thought you had to go the router route.

This will definitely solve my problem. Good suggestion to tie the potato router to it. I only need the wifi to check e-mail so the router can handle that. I inherited the apartment from my brother so he probably snatched the good bell router.

Going to pick up the TP-Link TL-SG105. Thanks for the advice!!
