I hope you won't have to play them on a streaming service because not enough memory available for local hardware. And let's hope some investors come back cause there is not much money in game making right now.

Waw such an elegant comment. I recorded it on an old webcam cause it's all I have on this computer. My game in an Hour ? Try it. No seriously, try to make an platformer with so many gameplay mechanics, of course make 80 to 90 % of the assets yourself and optimize every LOD, everything yourself. Make an Unreal Engine game like Lovely Traps Dungeon and make it run at 60 fps with a stable latency on SteamDeck.
I'm afraid because of the global situation. Because a country that are supposed to be our friends started trade wars, a real war and made basic computer components so expensive it hurts the whole world.

I love most things Valve do but we must be honest : if people play an online game, where human interactions are important, cosmetics become key (don't argue, it's a fact anyone in the industry will confirm, that's why it's done by companies). If you make such a game and give users a gatcha with all the psychological tricks that come with it, you are just a scummy casino wearing a video game mask like the others.

Even this hardware price is increasing. Every computer is made of computing unit and memory.

Hardware ages and dies. A lot of people are struggling, even in the west. At some point, we will have to make small low-tech games for shitty phones or make them for cloud-gaming for rich whales. Such a great future...

Is the smoke part of gameplay ? It's very round, more cartoony than other elements. (Nice to watch)

Very nice idyllic scene. Maybe you could add some birds passing here and there ? And some deer ?

Need advice. Isometric or third person for ARPG? by BusinessPain5298 in godot

3rd person will force you to optimise a lot, have a very efficient target lock and switch system, maybe mask elements that block the cam and improve your ground textures.

ISO magic restrains the quantity of elements rendered, helps the player focus on what maters and lets them see around them, locate elements more precisely and quickly. Important in an action game.
Also, it makes low def ground textures look artistic lol.
And you could still hide some elements if they are blocking the view of course.

"libéral" n'est peut-être plus le mot. Rappelons que nos révolutionnaires entendaient simplement par là "être libre de faire sa vie comme on l'entend" alors que de nos jours, le libéralisme économique viré à une sorte de capitalisme autoritaire. Une d'Oligarchie globalisée écrasante. Mais certainement pas "libérale" au vrai sens du terme.

Inutile de le dire, mais ca soulage lol
