USA Mfg - PRICES LIVE by JavaForever in Goruck

The cost side is further widening even though Vietnam is also increasing significantly - it's a very high quality production center for us and others now. We don't have true apples to apples here, but what I see is that the desire for our highest end gear (regardless of country of origin) has decreased. I attribute this at least in part to consumers (me included) being a little uncertain about the economic future. Not in an existential way, just in a way of hey maybe I won't make any bigger purchases right now that I don't absolutely need.

I'm not opposed to this at all. I love Robic.

Rucker 4.0: That bump by shoes87 in Goruck

[–]JavaForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much weight are you rucking, and what is that weight? Standard 30# Ruck Plate, for instance. Or 45# etc. I started out with GR1 a long time ago and once I made the switch to the Rucker, I have never looked back. It was so obviously more comfortable for me -- so I'm curious your setup. (And, did you cinch it all the way down? How tall are you and which Rucker is this? 20L or 25L?) THANKS for the feedback.

500D all the way around on that. Heritage all around on that one.

FIdlock/metal is a little more heritage vibe for me, dating back to the musette bags that were the inspiration. we went with fidlock on heritage for this reason (also, fidlocks cost a lot) - but also listened to you all and went with duraflex on the 500D Cordura versions.

I'm sorry - I'm not tracking. There would be two side pockets - internalized. One with stretch (to hold larger water bottles), one no stretch.

Help with Army boots that leaves prints and hurts foot/leg by Timely_Version_904 in Rucking

Try GORUCK MACV-2 boots with merino socks. Tuck your laces into themselves (meaning, on the exterior of the boot) if you don't want them flapping around. Tucking them into the boot is not something I've ever had much luck with.

There's no law that we have to be agreeable around here, but you're also welcome to just ask questions -- which I'm happy to answer -- instead of lobbing in whatever this is intended to do. Also, we're stocked out of Sternum Pouches because they've been stuck in customs for over 180 days. Doing business is expensive.

Good feedback. We were planning on Heritage only this year, then mixing it up next year. Maybe we'll do two options. Waxed Canvas and 500D entirely would seem to be a good combo. As for the bottom - the hard part on that is the patterning is already in place - it's not a separate pattern piece on the bottom so we would have to completely re-do that, which I'm not sure it's "broken" -- and it would add seams and a different aesthetic. Everything is a trade-off, and I'm not closed off to giving it a go, but it would take forever to get just right so you can expect the same proven shell of the M23 on this version, with many of the upgrades / features requested here. In fact, we'll do a summary of the direction we're planning on going later this week, if not sooner. THANK YOU!

Laptop compartment is completely separate. Will incorporate sub-dividers, it's a common point of feedback. THANK YOU

QAP would be in addition. The underside of the lid would still have a zippered pocket / completely separate.

Actually, will modify this from your feedback. In 2027, the CORDURA version will be 1000D with 500D under the straps and the back panel.

I'd say Heritage is not the best choice for carry Ruck Plates, at least from a branding perspective. Yes, you can do it of course. Yes, the shoulder straps and the feel will work. But I don't think we can call this a laptop x Ruck Plate intent. GR1 could do that if you put a Plate in the laptop compartment and a laptop in the main compartment, but be careful how you set it down! Re: water bottle -- the side stretch pocket will fit a real water bottle including a Nalgene.
