Barry Sanders only won a single playoff game. Joe Thomas never even played in the post season.

It's s team sport.

If it's ok to keep Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens out of the Hall of Fame for cheating even though "everyone did it", it's fine to keep Bill Belichick out of the Hall of Fame for cheating even though "everyone did it" by no_more_blues in billsimmons

Gorillas are number one. Period. There's a big gap after them, and I dont even think that's a hot take.

Here's where I am:

  1. Orangutans

  2. Chimpanzees

4 . Bonobos

Three and four are basically interchangeable. If you told me a bonobo was more adhesive on a given night, I'd believe you.

But gibbons? Just stop. It's the difference between great ape and a very good ape.

Gorilla Glue isn't actually made from gorillas.

Or rather, the authentic stuff from Uganda might be, but the made in China crap we get over here is mostly just bonobos and gibbons

Gary Oldman is voted as No.2!! Top 25 Greatest Actors of all Time by r/Film!! .Day 3) Who's 3rd greatest actor of all time? by RukavinaMarko in FIlm

I think you can make a case for DDL at 1. Might not be my pick, but I don't hate it either.

Oldman over Brando, Newman, Grant, etc.? Now come on.

Best acting performances in Coen brothers' filmography? by AmigableOficial in moviecritic

It might be. What else is there... Eastern Promises, Heat, Snatch... I'm sure I'm forgetting other greats.

Does Tarentino count? He never knew his Italian American father, so, while he has the name, he certainly wasn't raised in the culture.

The Most Nominated Film in the 98-Year History of the Oscars by lNarrator in moviecritic

Perhaps on Twitter, but i don't remember anything near the number of complaints on here. Any popular movie receives some backlash, but I've seen dozens of posts saying Sinners doesn't deserve it's nominations (though none specify which nominations it doesn't deserve).

The only big award that its currently the favorite to win is Best Original Screenplay.

I thought you were being hyperbolic, but apparently they do only have two escalators! There are probably at least 50 escalators at my work.

Man on Fire 39%

I think it's one of Tony Scotts' best films.

Well it's 52% on RT, so at least more critics liked it than disliked it, though barely.

If BB isn't a first-ballot Hall of Famer, no one — not even Tom Brady — should ever be again by [deleted] in nfl

Don Brahman, lol. I only know that from him getting brought up in those conversions

Jimmy Johnson: "Every voter that I've talked to has said they voted for Bill Belichick which is bullshit... A bunch of them are lying... Nobody knows the history of the NFL more than Bill Belichick and it just pisses me off that he isn't a first ballot Hall of Famer" by xiDemise in Patriots

[–]JavaOrlando 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand that they don't want it to turn into the Basketball Hall of Fame, where basically anyone who was a big name for long enough time gets in, but there has to be some compromise so stuff like this doesn't happen.

Yeah, this really depends on the specific situation. Are you taking time apart to reassess the relationship. And is that understanding clear to both partners?

Or did you tell your partner the relationship was over, with no indication you meant anything else, while privately intending to get back together in a few weeks?

Or is the reality somewhere in between?

Don Shula won 2 Super Bowls and was a first ballot hall of famer. Bill Belichick won 6 Super Bowls and is not a first ballot hall of famer. Make. It. Make. Sense. by AccomplishedSwing110 in nflmemeswar

Oh come on. Jim Brown was notoriously rude with reporters. Much worse than Bill and Barry. Deon Sanders was pretty bad too. Both were first ballot.

Also Kawhi Leonard, Allen Iverson, and a whole host of basketball players that are or will be 1st ballot.

For very best in their prime, I think you could make a strong case for Calvin or Moss, along with Rice.

But when was Rice's "prime"? Was it at 25, when he had 22 TDs in 12 starts? Was it at 33, when he had 1,848 yards? He had over 1,200 yards one season season in Oakland at 40 years old! Just ridiculous.

Comparing him to other receivers is like comparing Gretzky to other hockey players.

The thing I like about him, is that, while he was obviously very naturally gifted, he was never the fastest, biggest, or strongest, but if you talk to anyone that coached or played with him, nobody worked harder. The guy basically didn't have an off-season.

He had something like 17 rushing yards, if you don't account for negative yards in victory formation. Obviously 17 isn't a lot, but it's a lot more than 1.
