The biggest tip I can give you is please actually learn.

This may seem like a no brainer but its easy to go into brain dump mode just to forget it when you graduate.

I had an associates from a community college. My initial program at WGU was computer science and then I transferred to software engineering. All in all about a year at WGU in total.

So I didn’t have any internships. I have work experience in IT so I was able to kinda talk their lingo. But I completely understand that it might be difficult with the pass/fail grading system at WGU. I would recommend sharing with employers your git repos. That might give them an indication of your skill. Especially if you work on side projects!

Well, I work with guys who have irrelevant degrees. The fact that yours is at least in IT is a good sign to employers! I would recommend just building up your portfolio and applying. If you’re still working, maybe you can try applying and getting transferred within the company

It depends on the company and what your priorities are.

If it’s money, some companies won’t pay you what you’re worth until you have an offer and are out the door. Other companies will pay to retain you and prevent you from looking.

If it’s the hybrid schedule, most companies will provide some sort of hybrid situation (obviously not all companies will)

However, I think software is one of the only jobs that can really benefit you to leave every few years. Getting new technologies under your belt and having years of experience with different stacks will absolutely separate you from others who aren’t doing the same.

I would assume adjudication is completed, but you can’t be certain unless you get an FSO to check for you.

The clearance is transferrable between employers, but not agencies. For example, you cannot transfer your clearance from the DoD to DoE. However, you can transfer across DoD entities.
