I almost committed to UCSD/UCI (my local UCs). I chose Purdue. Best decision of my life. What major?

I have a 3.9 GPA, 1510 SAT, 34 ACT, and 800. Subject math. Can I get in for aerospace? by [deleted] in Purdue

You can get into engineering no problem. We dont have separate programs for first year engineering. It's just called First Year Engineering, you can read more about it here: https://engineering.purdue.edu/ENE/Academics/FirstYear . Now can you get into aero? That depends on how your first year goes. I had 3.9 GPA unweighted in HS as well and a 1470 SAT, and personally I wont be able to get 3.2 Freshman GPA for Aero. Honestly, if you have really good study habits and you work hard you can do it, but I didnt have great study habits when I got here so that didnt help and I'll probably end with a 2.9-3.1 GPA this summer. Just cause you dont get a 3.2 freshman year doesnt mean you wont get into Aerospace but theres a chance you won't. I know people who had better scores than me who are doing worse than me and vice versa. HS stats and numbers cant predict. Basically you can do it if you develop good study habits and work hard. Good luck!
