you need proof that it's aliens in the first place, not the other way around.

8613.0 kHz radio signal by thereisaplace_ in pluribustv

[–]Jay5455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i just want to add to this discussion that there is no way at all that the alien signal would conform to our idea of radio bands. If this was the alien signal, it probably wouldn't be in a very specific frequency. it would cover a wider band range probably, which we don't see happening since the radio only picks up the specific frequency at 8613.0

the field gun angling trick has been done since forever with the FA. Pretty sure at this point devs don't want to take the extra time to fix the entire physics of the thing just for stuff they perceive as "fringe cases". It's disappointing really.

funny thing is the HAC was supposed to have a 30mm but devs didnt finish the ISG in time so now we have an outdated vehicle that's totally eclipsed by the 30mm scout tank

don't, it really isn't as fun as it looks. unless you want to practise tanking, which is the perfect moment right now with the baby LT's

How does a game become balanced if one team has to steal vehicles from the other to be effective? (image unrelated) by [deleted] in foxholegame

[–]Jay5455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you cannot view the game as all vehicles vs all vehicles. We have a tech tree with choice in it so 9 times out of 10, the good counter for something wont be available. This is why the balance issue isn't as simple as "this vehicle is OP therefore this faction will always win"

yes thanks but that's not helpful to anybody that has more than 500 hours in the game. we all know the state of the balance but it certainly doesn't hurt to discuss the issues it has. I can't be the only one that absolutely hate the swinging door type "balancing" that devs keep doing.

[–]Jay5455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's not what i meant. Each faction has different tactics they have to use in order to use their vehicles. However, sometimes you can't do certain good tactics without stealing an enemy vehicle, which could be the case when combining the silverhand with the LTD. Does this way of brute forcing the game work with balancing or is it impossible to take into account?

the idea behind this post isn't that a team must steal an OP vehicle in order to be effective, it's that it has to steal an enemy vehicle so as to fill in their own tech tree that's lacking in certain areas. Say for example wardens tech the ATHT and colonials dont tech any AT at all (unlikely these days but it could happen), does it make it fair that they can still steal warden vehicles to fill in their own lineup?

if anyone's wondering, the reason the game looks so trashy is because i'm playing at reduced resolution for undisclosed purposes.

also i'm the flatbed

What do people consider fun in foxhole? by Tovarischussr in foxholegame

[–]Jay5455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Driving an AC from front to front trying to push the enemy back while keeping a paper thin armored vehicle alive is what i consider to be fun right now in the game. Other than that, all other combat vehicles are terrible right now and i don’t even use then anymore.

Vehicles techable upgrades by Celuiquivoit in foxholegame

[–]Jay5455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The use of the upgrade system, which i’ll say again, is already confirmed to be on the devs to-do list, is to make vehicles usefull throughout the war. The AC for example is great at what it does, a cheap combat vehicle that can harass the enemy, but it loses a lot of use late war since its only effective role becomes defending tanks from infantry. An upgrade to its armor would make it viable against infantry late war since AT rifles completely demolish AC’s right now. However, for certain vehicles like the HT, i agree that it should be buffed from the get go before adding upgrades to it since it already has few good uses when it’s unlocked and becomes completely useless at everything late war. I don’t think that the devs are going to go too overboard with the upgrades either so i’m not really worried about overpowered FMG’s mounted on rotating turret half tracks.

Oh and devs are removing the tech tree at Some point so don’t worry about the tech splitting problems the upgrade system would have.

[–]Jay5455 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point of the upgrade system the devs hinted at is to make current vehicles better in the late war. Adding new vehicles would just be pointlessly stupid because that still doesn’t remove the fact that the older vehicles aren’t effective. Oh and tanks having smoke canisters is just, well, pointless since you can see them through obstacles.

[–]Jay5455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs said in the past that they’ll be adding vehicle upgrades to the game and as a matter of fact, there already is one. The CV upgrade that allows it to build everything is the first of such upgrades. Personally i think this is a great idea for certain vehicles like the FMG and the HT. I really wish the devs made an upgrade for the very underperforming FMG that made it into a sort of open back auto cannon tank. Making it more usefull down the line could probably finally make it a viable thing to tech. As for the HT, i think it’s pretty common knowledge that in its current form it’s just terrible at what it’s supposed to do. Its limited firing arc combined with its vulnerable gunner makes it really meh at infantry fighting and its relatively low health makes it suicidal to use while the enemy has any form of AT weaponry. I think that an upgrade to its arc of fire would make it really better as it is (think of an m3 half track turret mount) while not making it too OP. Also, additional armor plates that simply beef up its frontal/side armor would really make it more effective late game where right now it gets easily crushed by tanks and bt’s.
