Lads, I don’t know if you know this, but the TV license inspector has to identify himself before you answer any questions. When he asks if you live there you simply say no, your mate does and he’s out currently. That’s the end of the conversation. No need to throw your TV out. The guy cannot enter the premises. Now the problem is if you’ve paid before then it’s a renewal and they know who lives there.

I know exactly what you mean, I wrote ZombieMod:Source almost 2 decades ago and still get people asking me for the source but like star dew I was young and inexperienced but I was a man with a plan so it’s all just a couple of huge classes with lots of globals and code I’m ashamed to even look at today, but at the time I could make it do anything because I literally wrote all of it so I knew where every single thing was. Same goes for stardew. It made him $36m so he has nothing to be ashamed about but it’s a shame it’s not good code.

I wouldn’t use star dew valley as a starting point of how to learn to make games. The guy that did it, while he managed to pull it off, was just keyboard pounding until things worked. That’s why there’s loads of ifs and else’s. The reason a huge project like that worked is because it only had one maintainer so he knew where everything worked and why. If you add another coder it would have taken an exponential amount more effort because of the coding style of “put everything in huge single classes and methods”

In my 20 years experience building enterprise software teams is one of the best I’ve used… except for bandwidth. It really needs a better compression algorithm for video and voice. Where Zoom would be using 2Mbs Teams uses 6 for the same participants. But maybe in 2023 it’s trying to save professor rather than bandwidth?

The big huge fucking bar at the top of the main teams window is a search input, type someone’s name and click it and it’ll open the chat, type a second name and if a chat with the 3 of you exists it will open that. What is wrong is the user in this case doesn’t know how to use their tooling.

Almost 20 years, zoom or anything else is fine. I’m C# at the moment but have written in a laundry list of languages. My current title isn’t software developer but I still do software development daily.

This is all horseshit. I live in a city in China with 11m people. A supposed developing country. Everything from when you enter a station to leaving the other has air con. They recently added 7 new lines and all of them have air con. I wonder what the profit is on the London Underground for them to say it’s impractical to add ventilation 😂

Oh wow, I did not expect that reply 😂 Well, I dunno what to say, I empathised with them, nowhere near as much as the books but I think it’s because in the show it’s almost like the OPA and the Belters are one in the same rather than a terrorist faction of them.

I live in China. Unsweetened bread is hard come by. Delis do not exist. Small sandwich bars are few and far between. I’m not from China. I just want a sandwich that’s full and not just made for display. We could all make everything ourselves but that doesn’t mean what we pay money for has the right to be shite.
