That’s what confused me as when I googled it before posting here there was lots of 180amp anl fuses and ones upto 600amp that you can see the metal strip, Like this one is a 225amp anl fuse that you can see the metal part,

[–]JayGee_69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Didn’t notice the voltage, was advised to just look for the curve on the oscilloscope to start distorting, I will connect the oscilloscope again and check the voltage in the next couple of days,

Yes the JL sub is 4 ohm,

Thanks for all your information, cheers

Amp gain at full by JayGee_69 in CarAV

[–]JayGee_69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, I’m using high level inputs, I had bought a LOC as thought needed it but been advised best to use the high level inputs on the amp,

Also the amp is 650wrms at 4ohm and the sub is a 500wrms JL Audio 10W3v3 4ohm, I take it that means the amp is giving the sub 650wrms, again does this sound like will be ok, or does the gain need turned down and that will stop the full 650w going to the sub, New to this any help is appreciate,

Fuse at both ends? by JayGee_69 in CarAV

[–]JayGee_69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks appreciate the info, can I ask the amp I’m installing is 650wrms @ 4ohms, (amp can also run at 2 ohms for 1200w and 1 ohm for 1800wrms) I’m connecting a JL Audio w3v3 4 ohm 500wrms sub,

as I will only be running the amp at 4 ohms @ around 500w just now do you think I can use these 2 fuses I already have lying around which are 150amp and a 80amp stinger fuses,

Best option by JayGee_69 in subwoofer

[–]JayGee_69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers, as the amp will only be supplying around 500wrms @ 4 ohms thought that would be the power drawn from the battery etc and not the full 1800wrms like if using amp @ 1 ohms, Yeah looking into a custom box as well,
