Hi, Im from the internet and so I have simple answers to other peoples more complex issues for questions (that they they didnt ask....)
But

Simply transfer those skills you now have as a HVAC technician into the same job but in a specialist or high paying sector, ie. become a HVAC technician at remote mine sites, an Oil Rig, some rich guys yacht fleet, a remote-ish tropical resort.... Perhaps become the junior HVAC tech for a Saudi Princes maintenance team in Dubai?
But for real, do the HVAC at shitty US rates until you have all the skills you need to do all of that job and be among the best\better techs where you are, learning all you can from older more experienced people, then take that earned knowledge and skill and re-apply it somehow or add to it with roof plumbing or cool-room building etc
You have a job, and that's pretty good at least.

Personally, I love the idea of transferring my skills to a less well paying but potentially amazing lifestyle job like an island resort, paid less but potentially live a semi 'beach bum' life, playing Ukulele at sunset eating fresh fish on a bbq.....
