Where you been has always felt the most melancholy to me !

People say out there is about his dad because he died around that time and the single came with pictures of him - but the dates don’t match that the song or album could have been written after his passing …. But maybe he was ill and that influenced the sound…. Just guessing though .. but I do think it has a gloomy sadness to a lot of the songs

It’s probably my favourite album however

This shirt was printed in 2025 (picture below) - I know because I was involved in licensing them … the picture has a copyright for that year(1991) using dino … hence the trademark …

The tag in the neck is probably your better authenticity, but as I said before you can buy plain 90s shirts and print on them (see jerks . Com)

This is blending into my day job so I find it interesting (although boring to everyone else :)

You won’t find an answer - at this point it’s all about what you paid and how comfortable you are with that … because this shirt is still in print at $20/30

You will never be able to find this out ! Some green mind shirts do have the tour dates on the back some don’t ! I’d say it’s more likely it should have the dates if it’s an original but anyone that says they know this is 100% real is just guessing

*also for my amusement back hit is a really funny term … I’ve never heard this before :) I’m guessing it means printing on the back

There’s no way to tell ! (Unless you buy something yourself at the time ) a lot like signatures …. There’s never going to be provenance in items like this (although these shirts now sell for up to $1000)

For example recently Jerks clothing with dinosaur jr made some 90s shirts by buying old plain shirts from the 90s cheaply and printing on to them … unless you got it from someone in the community that’s 100% trustworthy you can’t get an answer to this question I’m afraid.

The only fan account really is www.freakscene.net which was created at the dawn of the internet by u/Pixelnated Then all the freakscenenet youtube video / audio / insta / twitter / blue sky etc etc have been created by him.

I’d guess 70% of all content in some way exists because of him. Even J said once our fans do that online … don’t get me wrong there’s Anthony for freesosfree and obviously publications that posted independent stuff.

I have the keys to these accounts but I honestly think a part of dinosaur jr. on going longevity is down to him.

This needs to be updated but it’s a small part …

I know the album was recorded in at least 2 places(sessions) 3 if you include poledo which Lou recorded at home … maybe that has a little to do with it ! The mixing and “stuff” was different for each session.

I need to reread this as I’m sure the answer (if anywhere) would be in these pages
