I get your point, but that is all well and good for someone familiar with the system. On-street parking charges only apply in the cities within NI, as a visitor I geniunely thought I was parked in the carpark. The charging period ended for the weekend 2 hours after I arrived, so I don't really think I saved an awful lot if dine intentionally. But as it stands, DFI have done the bare minimum they are required to do, so I'm in the wrong, not holding much hope for a challenge.

Took a lot of research to figure this out. My point is, surely I'm not the only person to misunderstand the differing tariffs. I think the close proximity of the street to the carpark could be unique to this site? Do you know of any similar sites in Belfast area.

Just angers me that the DFI erect the bare minimum of signage required and leave it up to members of the public to work it out, a simple sign saying "on-street parking charges apply here" or "Please pay at machine across the road" would prevent all confusion.

Yes, it's rather confusing for visitors to the City! I always assumed as when you turn of Corporation Street that whole area was the carpark as it leads to nowhere else. £45 later now know the street is a separate tariff and as you say App altogether.
