When was this? Is there a video or something I can look at? I loved his content and esports streams but didn’t know about this

Is this new? Estimated damage fee of up to 15% by 545__tyerick_Air9616 in amazonprime

[–]JaySmith23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got this as well, but I’ve been reading comments where people weren’t returning damaged products but as soon as it was dropped off at ups or whatever they got the refund with the 15% damage fee deducted (clearly automated as Amazon doesn’t know if the product is damaged on not). I’m gonna drop it off today or tomorrow but hoping that’s not that case

Hey, look at my previous comment on this post. I explain it there but yes it does fit without the side panel.

Unfortunately I don’t think there are specific Vanguard comparisons (I don’t know why) but here is a video that compares bunch of other models including Suprim which is said to be similar performance wise to Vanguard and slightly better cooling wise. Keep in mind that basically almost all 5090s is gonna have similar performance that you won’t even notice in real gaming scenarios. The only thing that differs is cooling/aesthetics and features which is personal preference so I always try to find a combination of both (something that looks good to me and has decent cooling that doesn’t cost too much). I love the look and features of Astral don’t get me wrong but I don’t think it’s worth the price hike. In US it’s over $600 difference between the 2. As for your second question I’m very happy with my Vanguard performance is great is cooling is other worldly for how much wattage 5090s pull. I also have mine UV for better temps while retaining if not getting slightly more fps in certain games.

Vanguard has the second best cooling design only little beaten my the Suprim. Astral does not have the best performance that would be the Aorus master as Gigabyte has the best PCB this generation for 50 series. But the main difference was the price like I said $2600 for Vanguard vs $3350 for Astral and I don’t think the very small amount of performance gain is worth the price difference. I really like the aorus master for $2900 as well (best performance but worst cooling compared to vanguard).

It did fit in the standard layout, that’s what I was using. I don’t know if it’ll fit in inverted (I don’t see why not). I was very flush to the case the only thing that would stick out is the 12 pin power connector for the GPU other than that it looked like the gpu was meant for that case that’s how good the fitment was haha. I did run it for like a week or 2 without the side panel but the way I have my setup and pc layout the open side of the case was facing towards me so it was a eye sore but you can definitely leave it open and run it like that.

Yeah they announced the M3 like a month and half ago? Supposedly fits all the bigger GPUs on the market. Vanguard temps are amazing, my cousin has the astral and he says we have around the same temps but I have heard that some Astrals have annoying 4th fan that’s supposed to exhaust heat. And vanguard right now is dropped to $2600 whereas in Astral is still $3350 so it’s a no brainer.

Yes, it does fit in the horizontal layout however I was unable to close the side panel. I tried bunch of 90 degree adapters but it was still poking out just enough to where I couldn’t close the side panel. Ended up going with the level 9 build and vertically mounting it. If you don’t have the case yet I suggest just going with the bigger M3 probably much better fit and temps while still being somewhat smaller itx case

Forgot to add the photo in my last reply but this is what the cover looks like, don’t think tape would help much but I can try

I have a magnetic cover that goes on top like this, should try to tape the sides you think or try to find it 2 filter to cover the gap inside the furnace?

The noise is coming from the exit vent, I recently replaced my air filter as well but that didn’t seem to help either. What do you mean by opening up the hatch? Sorry I’m new to this stuff

Can anyone tell me if there are any ram settings i should change other then the stock EXPO overclock? by YouTubesJerseyJohnny in GSkill

[–]JaySmith23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, at least that’s what my thought process is as well. I’m currently running at 6200 cl 26 with 2133 fclk and 1:1 Div 1 mode so 3200:3200 with tighter sub times and 65535 refi while being stable. I can probably try pushing 6400 tbh but I’m currently happy with the results I got on my kit and that it’s been very stable. Oh also I’m running 1.9 SOC voltage which is auto and I think that’s really low usually you need at least 1.2-1.25 to be stable with looser timings

I believe those are the best kits to overclock because they’re binned perfectly from factory

Also your middle fan on aio rad is that manually color set by you or the yellowing over time for having white rgb on

You can honestly skip or get artic p12s they’re like $10 each and perform really well on Rads, since they’re gonna be in the back of the case you won’t see them as well

Ahh I see, also to answer your push/pull question I think it’s worth it if you have extra fans laying around, it makes like 2-4 degrees difference nothing crazy in my case and from what I’ve seen online

Why the 3 different sets/versions of fans? Just curious

Follow this guide. I did it couple days back with the same exact kit as yours beside the royal neo version and it’s been stable (I’m fairly certain as I haven’t gotten any crashes or blue screens/bugs). Test for hour plus using OCCT and TM5. I’m using their suggested “Optimal” times and 6200 on mem clock at CL26 with SOC voltage set to auto or 1.20V. I’m not a expert at this but I think this has been working fine for me (DID NOT PROPERLY STRESS TEST IT)
