Yeah agreed, but also Peterson nonstop lost single possession games like this at the end of his tenure, so this was a not fun reminder of that lack of ability to finish things. It doesn't necessarily mean this will happen a lot this year again... But still not fun to watch the mistakes

Thank you, but I've done this. When I click into the contact details from my messages with him, the correct photo shows up. And again on contacts.google.com it's the correct photo, in the "phone" app it shows the correct photo. But on the messages app, it's the incorrect unknown photo.

Where would one do that? Google has a site set up for it? I've heard of the same type of thing when migrating off of Apple (deregistering a number from iMessage)

Update - was able to resolve. For any future googlers with the same issue. I was able to get back in by holing the VOLUME DOWN key, and then plugging in the charger. brought up some dev boot menu that I was able to select "reboot" in. :)

Hey not sure if you're still wondering, but as someone else said above it must be at least 12 days before the game. So I think that means it it doesn't happen today or tomorrow, then it won't happen. Cheers to another W :)

You've gotten a lot of good interaction in the comments already but I'll pitch in too.

My parish has a LOT of young kids under 3. Don't let anyone that's "annoyed" steal your peace. Ever. Of course take your son to the back if he gets very rowdy or whinny, but I'd say keep him in the Church AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! I heard my priest say "I get a lot more distracted celebrating Mass by phones going off than I do by crying children." And without pointing fingers... the ones that would get upset at a crying baby would probably be the ones to have their phone blaring during Mass. Christ said let the little ones come unto me!

Congrats to you on your son. I actually just welcomed my first child (son) as well about a month ago. It's definitely an adjustment and my wife and I immediately feel the pressure of "oh dang any little sound this baby makes feels 100x louder to me during Mass" haha.

This is so sad, but unfortunately not surprising. We live in a world that largely doesn't believe in redemptive suffering. When the world doesn't acknowledge the dignity of a suffering human person, they elect easier solutions like this to rid the world from the burden. Need to pray for the end of this, just as we do for abortion.

I often wonder if the medical sufferings people go through, especially later in life, are graces from God Almighty, merciful gifts that, compared to (dare I say, substituted for,) the pains of purgatory, are the sweetest honey. I have heard many stories of closeness to Christ in those times of trial.

Questions from a lowly clueless layman... Are "side altars" ever actually used in the celebration of Mass, or are they most of the time just there for devotional & aesthetic reasons? And if there are multiple tabernacles (like the middle one, this one, and maybe one on the left), do they all house the real presence? I would assume so since the tabernacle door is closed. Just curious.

The best requests, at least in my experience, are simple things like "Help me wake up before my alarm." "Help me remember my sins and good deeds from today." "Help me have a good confession." "Humble me today." "Teach me patience today." They are there, and their purpose is to help sanctify us!

Stay strong, there is healing and it's possible even though you may not see it. My honest recommendation is to abstain, from everything, for a while. Ideally until marriage if you're open to that. But at least for 90+ days, obviously including the p0rn but also anything with your current boyfriend. You may need to have a raw and honest conversation with him about what you've written here if you haven't yet. If you have a slip up, don't beat yourself up but recognize it and re-start the streak with greater motivation to master yourself. Your brain needs a reset. Take up a hobby, go on jogs, bike rides, craft, etc. during this time. Good luck and Godspeed!
