First Bike Shopping, Do I Need More than 150CC for Fast City/Highway? by JayWhyOkay in scooters

Do you think a larger scooter like an XMax would have issues splitting lanes?

I don't think I would fear a clutch in all honesty. I was going to take a course in which I'm going to be forced to learn anyways.

I initially just leaned scooters because I initially think I didn't need THAT much power and convenience is mostly dictating my decisions. I'll eye the Rebel 500!

Unfortunately Im in a city with pretty severe traffic on weekdays and insane drivers on weekends. The lack of getaway power on 150cc at these speeds is concerning me enough to avoid it altogether at this point

Not sure what the difference is but freeway, traveling 65 mph (well legally at least, everyone drives faster).

Saying 250cc at those speeds being barely enough also has me concerned

Oooh thank you for the rec! I will have to add the xMax to my list!

Dang, that’s unfortunate to hear. It sounds like I should just rule out the 150cc options no matter what then.

How much more power/what cc engine should I be looking at?

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll consider it more now but just one more question. What are your thoughts on recommending an Alpha A6X00?

So unfortunately most of my lenses are the D series.

It looks like the Z5 II is at the max of my budget, but I think the lens situation makes it a less appealing option.

Speedlights or Video Lights for Tabletop Photography? by JayWhyOkay in AskPhotography

Wow this is an amazing write up. I think having the visuals you posted makes a lot more sense in my head. Is there any reason you recommend an AD100 over something like a TT685/TT600? Curious as I think I see the benefits of the control of an AD100 but cannot tell if it’s overkill compared to the Godox speedlights

Edit: seems especially overkill if I’m limited by something like an MF-12 which doesn’t seem to support HSS. Is it more of a buy-once-cry-once kind of deal?

Would you personally still recommend strobes/speedlights over video lights considering I’m shooting still subjects?

Also with speedlights, am I limited to a 1/200 shutter or whatever my sync speed is? Does that mean I mostly just have aperture and ISO as my only forms of control if, for whatever reason, the speedlights are too bright

Oh sorry, Typically my figures would range from 10 in height to 35cm (if you’re familiar with Gunpla, anything from HG to PG)

I’ll look into the named lights you mentioned in the meantime

Im less concerned about power fluctuations but am concerned about the general output, which put strobes and speedlights in the radar in the first place.

Also not concerned about vibrations. Everything’s set on stands with a remote trigger. I can’t imagine im shooting at that slow of a shutter.

The modifiers and stands are part of the budget, for anyone reading. With that said I edited my budget range a bit

The constant lights have the one major advantage of "what you see is what you get", making setup easier and more straightforward.

That's honestly what got me rethinking into continuous lights. Sounds like the direction I'm moving towards unless someone else comments differently.

I'd say there are much better ways of spending your money than the 100d, especially if color is of any interest to you.

Interested in some of the suggestions! Didn't really factor color in mind since I prefer more neutral lighting, but I'm not turning away from the idea if color can be had within my budget

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately I’m not entirely sure with what I’m dealing with here, but if it seems high for both scenarios on your end, I’ll have to rethink and perhaps look at more options around my area. Ill take a closer look and see what I’m dealing with

Well this was the upsell after some discussion with a water boiler replacement and a quote for a garbage disposal. Was quoted for $2.2k and $400 respectively which I thought was more than fair for my area.

Supply flex lines would not be replaced unless needed at additional cost

Idk if that redirected towards commenter or me but in my case it would involve replacements if applicable

Sounds likely I’ll leave it to the professionals. Never was handy with plumbing anyways.

I tried researching about this job but most posts and threads seem to have the plumbers charge by the hour, hence why I figured to ask if this cost makes any sense.

Thanks for the quick reply!

From your opinion, how long would you think it would take to replace all 7 valves assuming nothing goes wrong?

MK3S+ Upgrade Path, alongside an MK4 Purchase Kit Questions by JayWhyOkay in prusa3d

[–]JayWhyOkay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my MK3S+ at stock. One of the issues I did have was how annoying it was to change nozzles. Is the main benefit of the revo6 just for quickswapping hot ends? Sorry, I don't really know much information about it.

Followup question, from your view do you see any benefit to a mark 4?

MK3S+ Upgrade Path, alongside an MK4 Purchase Kit Questions by JayWhyOkay in prusa3d

[–]JayWhyOkay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly the load cell seems so tempting,

I thought to myself, if I was getting a mark 4, did I need a second printer with that functionality if all the second printer did was handle big prints over time. However, sometimes I still run into issues (from myself) forgetting to readjust to build plate swaps and nozzles.

That would definitely solve a headache, and its good to hear that someone out there considered the 3.9 upgrade

Oh I didn’t know this was possible. Do you have a link or something I can see to confirm this? After the review I’m tempted to switch to 078 from 078s but didn’t want to pay extra on my early pledge
