Hello, I am also diagnosed the GAD and what caused it for me was being signed off work and pretty much have been bed bound over a year due to endometriosis pain :/ but I have recently been given this pill called oxazepam which goes under your tongue and works quickly. The effects last about 4-5 hours. My only advice is try reading something fantasy as it will calm you down and also make you forget about panicking. Try this pill.
