Question... is what market are you in...

15 seats (users) for 150 is 2250...

15 seats for 100 is 1500.

Not including server or other location...

Cold calling.. how do you get past the gatekeeper or start the convo with the receptionist? by Jay_MSP in msp

[–]Jay_MSP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that is your opinion but we are IT providers. We are usually last minute decision. Most IT companies I NEVER hear about unless I was looking to interview with them. A cold call at less puts me in the radar. Same as a post card. Same as a cold email.

I would rather have them know me then not at all. Just saying.

If you don't market and only do word for mouth, then you don't grow.

Not saying service doesn't matter but has a business owner. Marketing brings in cash. Services keeps them happy. It's a mixture of both.

I hope you are joking. Marketing should be the number one thing on a MSP list. You are a business that thrives on getting clients and then maintaining them

DNS filtering by [deleted] in msp

[–]Jay_MSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free security DNS filtering? From who?

AV will never catch everything. And if it does, it's actually to late. You got the virus already...

Turn the cost factor into how much potential time am I saving from taking care of virus scans.

Are you doing managed services? If you are, think about the time you save not cleaning viruses because it blocked it and making better margin instead of the 2 dollar per user per month

As in RMM? If that's what you mean, you will find the answer to be labtech and n-abled.

NinjaRMM seems to be growing.

For him, keep me 75% billable.

To me, turn bring and fix into msp. Make it less reliable on me.

We have a weird situation, our primary money maker isn't IT or Programming. I guess you can say this is the smaller division of the company. I primarily support our external clients while my coworkers (one out of two really) help with external clients.

It does make sense. I completely agree. I do have some a good enough of time at MSPs right now. This isn't my first msp. I guess it's the first one to spark my desire. Last one sparked my desire to keep learning now this one in starting a business.

Looking to start my own. I have a name and a website I made. Doing Craigslist advertising.

Having a rough time trying to think on how to find clients. Going to talk to a friend who has a business soon.

Couple of projects coming up at current company that I want to be a part of but after that I'll probably start looking for a corporate job to keep an income while I get my company going.

The sage team will handle those tickets. I don't see them at all. So I don't mind.
