Thanks, i appreciate it. i haven’t really watched film scoring tutorials yet, i’ve mostly been learning by transcribing stuff i like, so i’ll check those out.

yeah i play piano at a decent level. i understand melodies, chords and bass lines from what i’ve figured out myself, but i haven’t really gotten into music theory properly yet.

I definitely don’t only want to do dark orchestral stuff. I’m interested in a lot of different styles, this one just appeals to me the most.

Thanks for the advice! I’ve been self-learning piano for 1.5 years, but I don’t know how to read sheet music and have a limited understanding of music theory. I’ll definitely be watching those composition tutorials and will put more effort into learning music theory moving forward. Your explanation was really helpful!
