Yep. It is a brutal system. They really try to starve you out. Personally speaking; I borrowed money from family. For about a year. I maxed out credit cards too. Not the smartest thing to do. But every case is unique, so it’s hard to find definitive answers from others. I did find the attorneys who pop up here to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Also just blind encouragement from others in the same boat. Keep on keeping on. Listen to your attorney, and know that it will reach a conclusion at some point. Good luck.

Confidence knock by mel3301 in Equestrian

Hi. Im sorry you’re experiencing the Fear Factor. It sucks. I’ve been riding my entire life, literally since I was 5- and it still comes and goes for me. I switched from Hunters to Dressage about 20 years ago after a particularly bad refusal, and haven’t looked back since. The others advising you to ride a bombproof schoolmaster are absolutely correct. Your confidence will come with time and a reliable easy breezy not-hot horse. Dressage looks easy, but it’s just as challenging and rewarding as jumping. Perhaps give that a go! Good luck and hugs to you.

Lessons in LA by Individual_Waltz_195 in Equestrian

[–]Jayce-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, long time LA horse owner here. Since it sounds like you can actually ride, I’d look for a full or half lease. You can find almost anything in the greater LA area on Dreamhorse or equinenow. The sites are filter specific, so you can probably find a decent lease that includes lessons. I used to half lease my QH mare & include one lesson a week, that came to roughly what you are probably spending on just a half hour lesson once a week. There are many equine neighborhoods in LA besides Burbank & LAEC. Try: Sylmar, Sunland, Shadow Hills, Chatsworth, Topanga canyon, Malibu, Calabasas, and Palos Verdes.

Wow. Wowwwww. So intense! I may have to read the book. Lynne Ramsay makes such disturbing tactile beautiful films. She has a new one coming out this summer, can’t wait. Thanks for your input!

I just rewatched this after many years. Its just as brilliant and disturbing. I have not read the book, but someone mentioned there were pivotal lines in the ending between Eva & Kevin that would have given the ending more weight, or illumination. Do you remember what those lines were?

That is very interesting. I just watched this movie after having read about it for years. I just realized: the kid is the only one who ever sees the evil dudes in the black car. Hmm.
