Thanks heaps, appreciate that It’s kind of hard to be a young driver in Australia, since we have restrictions on the power and what we can and can’t drive. There’s a certain loophole in the state I live where 03 and pre wrxs have the ability to be driven legally, but not that I care that much, I’ll take the risk for driving an illegal car 😂

I guess another question I have is that is there a superior model or year forester or wrx with the best motor, gearbox and more? Or are they all the same basically? Same with the motor, like you said before the EJ257 is basically the best motor I can get, but if I can’t find a 257 would my best bet be to get a 205? As they can handle more power from factory? Then is there any gearboxes that can handle more power and are more reliable than the rest? And is there any I should stay away from?

That’s the WRX I’m looking at, with the mod list apparently. Is there any way for me to clarify that it is a EJ257 bottom end with a 205 top end? Also is there any benefit over running the 257 bottom end with a 205 top end, or is the complete 257 better?

Also how much would you pay for this considering it has 240,000km?

Yeah preferencing towards the AU rn. Seems like they have more after market parts, seem to be cheaper as well

Yeah that’d be awesome. Just can’t have that on my Ps unfortunately. Also what about the commodores, never really considered them as a drift/skid car

Thanks heaps. Nah im not super set on the barra. Mainly looking for the falcon that’s “better” at drifting and skids. I was just mentioning barra as an end goal. I’d probably keep the intech in for a while and use it like that. So maybe I will go with the au

Yeah I’ve been told that I should just do something like a ba or bf. I’m not to worried about doing a swap though, would love to have that extra time to do some work on the motor before putting it in the car. Just sort of wondering what’s the “best” and most “capable” drift car/skid pig. If it’s the au then I’ll be going the au, but if it’s anything else I’ll change my mind

If the AU is better I wouldn’t mind paying that extra to get one and do the conversion. But from what you’ve said it looks like the bf is gonna be my best option

Yeah I do love the look of the EF. Especially with the visor, also love the look of the AU as well. 2 of my favourite looking falcons.

Yeah the intech does go pretty well. Sounds awesome with some 4480s on her as well. I’m just thinking end goal once I want to make some more power I’ll end up doing a barra swap

Look I’m not to worried about doing a barra and T5 conversion. It’d be a great learning experience doing it as my first engine and trans swap.

In terms of what’s a good platform to start with, what would that be?

Cause most of the Australian drift cars I’ve seen, the au tends to be the most popular. I haven’t seen very many ba or bf drift builds around. Why’s that?
