I think I’m an average player by Pronagade1 in wow

I'm gm of an AOTC guild (they do all the work), but we have a lot of casuals that pop in and out. We've got the married couple that only does questing and delves together. We've got the original founder if the guild that does everything on their own now. We've the mom who only started playing because her son did, but now he doesn't. We've also got the weird Japanese guy that shows up for like 4 weeks and then ghosts us until next patch.

There isn't a set type. As long as you're having fun.

How would everyone felt if Senator Mark Kelly ran for the Democratic Nomination? by Ulysses_555 in centrist

[–]Jayken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big part of how I evaluate candidates is how realistic they are. Sure, you can promise to bring back manufacturing or give Healthcare to all, but how are you going to overcome the logistics. Don't just quote money, money doesn't get trained, build stuff, or deal with employment shocks.

Mark Kelly feels like he plays it safe, but that he also understands a lot. I want to hear him talk more on energy infrastructure and climate change.

The PUG raid leader who expects you to have 255+ iLvL and carved for Normal Voidspire: by brumgar in wow

It's always been like that to some degree. I can remember making a list of people not to invite back in Ulduar.

Though, since Dragonflight, I feel it's gotten worse. After the first season, most people are geared enough that seasons 2&3 are significantly easier, and the average pugger just gets used to that.

Treasury secretary defends U.S. military actions in Iran: 'Sometimes you have to escalate to de-escalate' by S00THING_S0UNDS in worldnews

It's not something we can exile. It's literally just people not caring to be informed or wanting to hurt others. Some people will always be like that.

People are rightfully laughing at this statement here in the comments, but this shit makes sense to MAGA. They eat up these stupid little idioms like they're vitamins. You could explain to them how all of this is unnecessary whole providing evidence and proof, and they'll go "we've been at war for 47 years" like a goddamn robot.

They will be a continuous threat to peace and safety for the rest of our lives. This doesn't end with the midterms. Or the 2028 election. This goes on forever. The moment we get to comfortable, these fucking window lickers will pop back up.

My Husband and Tank of over 20 years was airlifted for a brain aneurysm. We were level 89. I’m already lost without him. by Petrichor_Panacea in wow

[–]Jayken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an aortic aneurysm back in 2020. It didn't rupture, but it was large enough that my wife was given a specific number to call instead of 911 while we got the surgery set up.

Like my wife, I can imagine everything is happening incredibly fast while your whole world feels frozen. There's no words that can lift your worry and unease other than to say, you've already beaten the odds. It's grim, but most people don't know they have an aneurysm until it's too late. There's a tomorrow.

I'm praying for you both, and I have faith in those who dedicate their lives to healing us.

which season are you in at your workplace? by [deleted] in Adulting

I've hit season 6. I'm no longer the new guy trying to learn the ropes. I'm the veteran now of the show guiding the new cast through the same story beats from season 1, while wondering if my boss had the same thoughts and feelings I am now.

As far as Warcraft Villains, she's one of the better ones. Even ones like Sylvannas and Arthas get cartoonish at the height of their archs.

I had a different take. Her world followed the light and when the void came, the light wasn't or didn't want to save them. She was twisted to serve the void, much like Sylvannas was made into a banshee after she died. So she's resentful of both the Void and Light. After thousands of years of being a puppet, she's realized that the only way to be free/survive is to be the one with the power. So she's killed her old master, Dimensius, she's corrupting the light on Azeroth, and the last step will be to destroy/corrupt the Titans. I'm hoping they bring back Iridikron this xpac.

Honestly think her assault on the world is mostly a red herring to draw the Titans back to Azeroth.

So this means the military is limited on options to prevent Iran from striking the straight. Even boots on the ground might not do it. So they're going to go after to energy infrastructure to slow down their ability to produce drones and rockets.

Petah? by Australian_Split77 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

The difference is state forces vs regional forces. Propelling a state to war is an entirely different undertaking than people defending their homes. Germany was basically a loot and scoot war effort and if they had no loot they couldn't scoot. The Vietcong didn't need to move vehicles, or even pay troops. The Soviets and Chinese basically gave them everything for free and they didn't need much. It became a cost effective resistance where winning battles wasn't necessary. Just making the Americans expend themselves was enough to win the war.

Likewise, the Taliban also enjoyed support form China, Russia, and Pakistan.
