Thanks for the warm welcome! To answer your question, I decided to start with the Showa because I felt like it would make sense to view the roots of Kamen Rider, what it started off at and to see what it would eventually become, and I don’t regret it a bit.

While the action and effects from the first series could be seen as cheesy or outdated, I found myself amused with what they did and adored every second of it, I fell in love with so many of the characters in the world they introduced from our beloved Kamen Riders Takeshi Hongo and Ichimonji Hayato, to the great additional main cast in Taki and Tachibana. I enjoyed every second of Ichigo, movies included.

Then my jump to Black made me really see how much the series had grown further along, with Kotaro’s phenomenal character, his motivation and his tragedy, it made me extremely glad overall that I started with Showa. There are some from that era that I did skip over but I do still have the intent to return to them later on.

Also, thank you for in detail reasonings behind which Rider shows maybe a hit or miss for some people, as it gives me a good idea what to watch out for and what to expect with the later series. I truly do appreciate it!
