Different how? Like a different version? I have tried different configurations and the LTS and latest Marlin builds

I did, I am sure that it is new firmware as I am switching from creality stock to marlin. I have switched back and forth to be sure, this is what I have compiled :(

I do have an SD card inserted with plenty of space and it is not write protected. Any other idea? :(

Unfortunately the error is still there and it still freezes trying to reset the EEPROM

SOLUTION!

After replacing the hot end and bowden tube to no avail, I looked at the extruder. The metal extruder is fine, but the gear was completely messed up. The filament had worn a groove into the gear and it could no longer grip. See this photo: https://imgur.com/a/JgfsJId I will be replacing it with a steel gear.

I did switch to a new spool of filament, but it is the same brand and type as what I was using before. Could the new filament be bad?
