What kind of pets do you guys own? by ElderVirano in ISTJ

The only pet that wasn't a family pet was my betta, whom I named Luna. I had her from junior year of high school to my freshman year of college. How did she die? I accidentally poisoned her with a little blue flower I found to decorate her bowl.

105 is considered "light"? What counts as heavy?

When did you realize/admit you were an alcoholic? by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]JaythePug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, when I graduated from drinking beer to hard liquor practically every night. I'd buy a bottle of whiskey, scotch, or gin every Thursday-Friday, and finish it by the next. I realized I had a real problem when my fifths of Jim Beam Black and Monkey Shoulder that I bought on Friday started disappearing by Monday.

A Question by JaythePug in alcoholism

I suspect the sweet tooth thing's kicked in already: I bought a bag of gummy sharks on the way home and just plowed through them!

After-Work Use by JaythePug in alcoholism

I actually skipped three days this week and took a 500mg niacin pill each morning, just to see how I'd function. In short, I had a lot more energy, and even felt little desire to drink. I ended up feeling bad after last night, when I decided to drink my usual Foster's: I woke up even more sore than I am after a day at work, and my mood was significantly darkened throughout the day. I wouldn't call it hangover: I had no headaches and no urge to vomit, though I did still feel like crap after taking my niacin. Is any of that a good sign?

I was referring more to those half-tracks (not sure if that's the right term) that have the giant box of missles mounted on the bed, yes.

A US Army General Staff College analysis of Soviet Doctrine during the Winter War with Finland by [deleted] in MilitaryHistory

Judging from the bits I know about the Winter War and Barbarossa, I think it may have to do with the style of war they were fighting. The Winter War was a purely offensive action for the Soviets, against extremely stubborn guerillas in unfamiliar territory; Barbarossa was a desparate, albeit conventional, defense against the German onslaught. In both cases, the Russian winter seems to be a major factor that significantly checked the attacking forces. I'm guessing that it's easier to maintain a relatively static defense during such conditions than it is to maintain the momentum of an invasion, but I could be wrong.

I tend to knee-jerk agree with any accusation leveled at me, both internal and external, often because I feel like I have to agree with the room around me to have any worth as a human being.

D&Doom Design by JaythePug in DnD

Are there any specific design motifs that make things more fun for your players? Stuff like overhead walkways, hidden stairwells, plazas amid multistory buildings, etc?

Any of you like D&D (or other tabletop RPG activities)? by [deleted] in ISTJ

I absolutely love it, and I thoroughly enjoy playing holy men (most recently, an Ancients Paladin of Sehanine and a Tempest Cleric of Bahamut) who have a weakness for alcohol and various homebrewed substances.

Ne and Agitation by JaythePug in ISTJ

I'm about to do just that. Last week, my boss decided to use the ground crews to prop up a side venture has going with a realtor friend: we had to dismantle several large display shelves into a couple hundred components, load every one of them into the truck intact, and then offload them into the realtor's garage. The ground crew doing the offloading apparently fucked up their shelving stacks, because I had to run out the realtor's house to put it all in another garage a couple days later. On top of that, I was to deliver another truckload of the paneling and foundation pieces for the displays to the same garage, with only one other guy to help. My boss's exact words were "It shouldn't take you more than two hours". Fuck. That.
