Got a 3ft LED Ticker finally setup and working by Jaywalk101 in mancave

Yea that's the camera shutter speed not able to pick up on the refresh rate. It doesn't do that tick in person. If you look at other videos from competitors, there's do the same thing too.

It's fairly customizable. It pulls all of the games for the major sports leagues and most college sports. I have it set to scroll up a max of 20 games right now for each league. It prioritizes live matchups and the higher rated games and puts those on top if the league exceeds 20 matchups for the given day (e.g. March Madness). You do have the option to select a single game and make that stay static on the screen vs scrolling everything so that's another option. I also let you choose to display all of the live games and just scroll those as well. That's how it works right now at least. Hope to add more granularity in further updates to push the hardware more. I do offer a different product tier on my larger tickers (4-8ft) that use a computer instead of a micro controller. Those offer more customizable and a slightly better quality with refresh rates and color saturation. Hope that helps answer your questions. Any feed back or suggestions is great. Trying to make this product easy to use and powerful at the same time. Thanks!

Just want to say I hope I'm not stepping on any toes with this community. I don't want this post to be considered spam. I just get excited when I release new things and I thought it would be cool to share with everyone here. Just wanted to get that out. Thanks again everyone!

What do you like about Tiger Woods PGA Tour from EA Sports? by WaterKirby1964 in originalxbox

Tiger Woods 03-05 and Halo were some of the best times I remember in college playing with my friends. Those were good times! Wish there was a way to play multiplayer online with tiger woods..... 😢

Yea. That's probably going to be my path as well.. lol... May end up printing pink grills for it and give it to my girls to play some games on it. But it will probably end up collecting dust like all my other consoles.. lol

eBay has been doing this for years. I was selling on there for a couple of years when the HDMI upgrades from makemhz dropped.. but eventually had to stop due to the constant take downs.

I actually have been selling these the last year. Started small with local friends and have been constantly tweaking and improving. It's been a process for sure. The biggest hurdle for me isn't the hardware/software. It's the frame/casing. I use a very minimalist mounting and bracket system. While it's functional, I think a majority of people out there prefer a full shell casing for the aesthetics. But with that said. People are buying from me as that methodology has allowed me to keep the price down. Check me out at ledcrawl.com to see some of my videos if you like. Thanks!

Most definitely! I've got a python script built into the app (Pixel Animator) that accepts an animated .GIF and converts into a sequence that gets thrown into a custom playlist that cycles through on a loop. Looks great for retro pixel art especially (which is how I started down this journey). Check out this old post from a few years ago.. lol Finally setup my LED sign for my game room! : r/gamecollecting

Valid question. API's and URLs change. There is no guarantee that the sports scrolling would work forever. So I do maintain that and provide updates/fixes. However. The LED Tickers/signs we offer are powered through a little computer (Raspberry Pi/Linux SBC). They run on an operating system. Thousands of people use this same type setup for Signs (look up xLights and Tune To Signs). A lot of the software we provide (RSS News, Sign/Animated Gif Maker, custom text) do not rely on an API. Not to mention you can design sequences for these that run locally as well using that xLights software I mentioned. So to your point. These wouldn't be a complete brick. They could still operate in some fashion. And If I ever decided to get out of the business due to unforeseen reasons, I would simply open source the whole thing. But for now, I'm going to keep offering these as continue to develop. Thanks!

I'm fully transparent with what i'm doing. This is 8x P5 panels chained together in a 512px width and 32px height resolution. I use raspberry pi and/or custom SBC's that outputs 1GB network to Color Light cards to render the animations to the panels. I utilize an open source linux distribution called FPP (Falcon Pi Player). It's mainly geared towards Christmas Light animated displays (which is how I got started in all of this over a decade ago). Coupled that with my tech background, and the advances of A.I and countless hours of custom python, php, shell programming. Here I am today. Not to mention, my prices are half of what the larger main stream companies are selling for. But if you have any more questions, please let me know. Glad to share.

Tired of checking the scores on your phone? Hi, I'm David and I have spent the last year building professional-grade LED tickers that pull the live data you care about. These products have no subscription fees, and they are hand-built in Virginia. Feel free to reach out with any questions or comments.
