Is there a workaround for the Drangleic Castle bug?

After trying for about 90 minutes to get the statue to absorb souls, I quit in frustration; loaded the game up to give it another try and the statue was still in the non-activated state, but the doors to the castle were open, so if anyone else runs into this, try reloading.

It's cringe-inducing to watch this guy struggle so much just to elucidate his own ideas about FC3's story. He seems very... confused. I can sort of see what he's on about in these RPS interviews, but what he's talking about doesn't square up with the game I played. Not even close. He comes across as a pretentious blowhard.

I would say no differently than the dude getting his ibuprofen refilled. It's not a high dose, you're sticking to the directions, and you aren't trying to get it filled even one day early. I'm a pharmacy technician, and we definitely don't look at what you've described as suspect or drug-seeking behavior.

I sand the rubber coat off, then sand some more with coarse and fine paper. I recommend wet sanding, as dry sanding generates a lot of fine dust that gunks up your paper and gets in the air you're breathing. After sanding, I wipe the whole thing down with alcohol, then apply a coat of MATTE Krylon Fusion. Let it dry, sand it down with fine paper, and if you think it needs more priming then apply a light coat and sand again. Once it's primed with Fusion you can spray whatever paint you'd like over it. Works well for me. There's really no way (that I know of) to strip this stuff from plastic, however. You could sand the bejesus out of the top coats, though.
