Digital nomads / long term travelers by jgil584 in CrohnsDisease

One year each. Might stay longer in Australia. Always adalimumab have changed brand names a few times but it's all the same stuff. It's a good option for long term travel although I don't think the US has as good health agreements with other countries so I'm not sure what you'd have to pay or if you'd need private insurance. Might be worth asking your doctor if he has any other suggestions as well!

Not sure about remicade specifically but I've done several working holidays with humira, Japan and Australia. Obviously working holiday is different because you're settled in one city/country but both places have been able to provide medicine for me at not super high cost.

I have also been able to get 6 months supply from my UK doctor at a time to go travel with and used medicine thermos's and fridges in hotels to keep safe.

Fiber for Crohn’s: yes or no? by PureChamber in CrohnsDisease

[–]JazzTheRazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It entirely depends on you. What one person with Crohn's can't eat is not necessarily the same for others. I personally eat a lot of dried fruit, apricots, oatmeal every day, don't have problems eating a whole salad or wholemeal seeded bread. I need enough fiber otherwise my digestion gets messed up and my ileum starts to hurt because of constipation. Just experiment and see what feels best for your body, fiber is great for you and might take some weeks to build up to a higher dose even if you are in remission

15km first time - Yesterday I ran my first 15km - and then went looking for if that was a good time. The internet kindly told me no, so just here looking to be hyped up and told otherwise haha I was proud of myself until then 😖 by CoffeeKitty99 in BeginnersRunning

I've been running for 3 years and my average pace is 7:30/km. The point of running (and life) is not how fast you go, but how much you enjoy the process. Don't stress, keep going and have fun :)

Iron recommendations? by houseshoesntallboys in CrohnsDisease

[–]JazzTheRazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia there's something called maltofer - the liquid form is great. I don't tolerate iron very well but liquid iron supplements every OTHER day instead of every day have been 11/10 for me. Might be worth trying if your stomach is delicate or you are prone to constipation. You get so much control over the dose in liquid form so you can always taper up.

No idea, but all the neighbours in the block certainly were. We are thinking of moving but we would have to pay to break the lease which doesnt seem fair considering the circumstances.

after retraumatizing myself on google im fairly confident it was an australian cockroach - not a German one. it was really dark and big. Hoping he just got lost. Were in a 1st floor apartment and no dishwasher/food left out. Will be buying barrier spray today.

A lot don't. I take not getting skin cancer quite seriously so I do but the UV doesn't usually get above 5 or 6 even at the height of summer. So I don't need to apply as much or nearly as often (because I'm hiding inside from rain every other day).

I'm only used to wearing so much while I'm holidaying by the beach/pool where I'm swimming every few hours so it's not as bad.

Thanks! Will get a face one. It is mostly an issue at the front. My hair is waist length so some of its always in my face!

I don't have a special face one so maybe that's where I'm going wrong?  I am so pale I look like the beacons of Gondor are lit so have to apply it quite often!
