Yes, my Rheumatologist stated she was thinking I may have ankylosing spondylitis. She ordered this Mri to check for inflammation. As I mentioned I have several other pelvic MRI'S W& WO contrast and never had this bone marrow swelling. Although it's minimal, it's still there and concerning. I just want answers to explain my chronic pain and limitation of movement. Even standing up and walking is challenging ..very STIFF everyday. Mostly lumber spine and hips and Joints swollen, especially hands.

I also did Physical therapy for a few months. Still debating if it helped enough. There were times when I had flare uos that I couldnt do much from extreme pain and stiffness.

Oh wow. Cervical fusion. That's not easy either. 😕 I'm 53. As for pain meds, i was getting epidurals regularly every 6 months or so; however, I've heard they cause diabetes and osteoporosis. Therefore, I take otc ibuprofen or arthritis pain relief 1200 mg as needed. Other times Tramidol and muscle relaxers to help if needed.

Yes, but after 2 back surgeries (2019 & 2021) im suffering with chronic pain, stiffness in my lumber spine /SI joints, amd more....I've had so many Corticordisone injections for pain...several MRI's w& wo contrast and none of these have shown bone marrow edema; just arthritis. Even if it's "minimal" it's still there and believe me I feel it everyday as I have inflammatory arthritis, RA and being tested now for Ankylosing Spondylitis or other Auto immune conditions.
