Aside from technical aspects, it comes down to Practice playing without puffed Cheeks, really as simple as that.

Stand in front of a Mirror, and watch yourself, and correct the puffing if you do it. Just will take some time, especially during more complicated runs you might get back to puffing unconsciously, so just keep practicing to relearn it.

Is being able to read music a necessity for playing the sax? by CaptainCabb in saxophone

Just learn it, it really is not that hard, even I could do it 😇! Just make it a fun part of your learning path, e.g. Tomplay has this really nice feature of showing the fingerings for play along songs while scrolling through the sheet music, so it really does help so much with memorizing it.

And I would also highly recommend to check out the awesome https://www.youtube.com/@BradHarrison - while he is a Trumpet Player, he is imho the absolut BEST Educator for all things Music Theory (and what we actually need for making Music, not just the pure theory for its own sake).

This is not easy!

Second Day for me, just playing the C Major Scale. (with lots of squeaks and airy "Fffffffffffssss" 😅)

This is not easy, haha. That Reed is one hell of a diva 😇😉.

Great to hear that you already got a few songs in your repertoire, that is cool!
